We need to return to EmDom meaning only for defense. Otherwise, you destroy the idea of private property. Reztore EmDom to defense only and property values will rise.
Why would you improve your property if the government can take it the day after you finish?
Govt can’t “take it”...they buy it , usually at much more than market prices.
And the good of the community often requires eminent domain. Private property rights are protected, unlike other totalitarian countries where no one has “private properties”..its ALL govt.

Only one glitch. Washington will redefine anything to be defense related, so as to qualify. A great example is the interstate highway system. Eisenhower justified it as a defense project, even to the point where there has to be a mile of straight highway every x miles of road, in case military planes need emergency landing locations.
While I am appalled at Kelo, I have to say Trump has made me appreciate the other side of the eminent domain coin.
