I think this issue is the "canary in the mineshaft" for American culture. It is an issue that touches the very heart of what is wrong in America.
Under political correctness we are unable to discuss the issues that lie under the failure of inner city schools: Dysfunctional parenting, lack of discipline, low IQ's, low expectations and dishonest curriculums that rewrite history and reality.
Fixing inner city schools would require hard decisions that will of necessity abandon a segment of the population that is destroying everything around it. Hard decisions are not popular and don't "buy votes", so they will never be made.
Meanwhile, schools in out-state areas away from the inner cities continue to do a passable job of educating our children. That's why the left is pushing Common Core and Obama is expanding Section 8 Housing into rural areas. Uncontrolled immigration is the final piece of the puzzle. The elements are in place to complete the destruction of education in America. With education destroyed, American culture will quickly fall.
You can falsify earthly history. But God insists on knocking on our doors anyhow.
How is the calculus of the heart? That’s the thing that is going to lead to all the rest.
IMO, we will never, repeat, NEVER, be able to ‘fix’ inner-cities until the citizens of those cesspools wish to change their CULTURE.
IME, it’s a great disservice to lump Asians, Indians, etc. into the same pool when it is shown, time and time again, *they*, though resides of the same areas, don’t have the same/extent-of ‘problems’.
Yes.
I see all kinds of brightness in young people’s eyes, but the intelligence has declined. They just don’t know.
And other countries have eclipsed us in R&D.
You can’t have it both ways: baseline monetary support for the poor and cutting edge industry.
This has me really low.
