Marco and the K St. Restoration: I went to see Marco Rubioâs town hall this afternoon in Salem, New Hampshire. It was only a few miles from my hotelâI really had no excuse. I wanted to find out: Was Rubio really as slick and insubstantial in this setting as John Edwards? Answer: No. Heâs slicker. Heâs slicker, in part, because he at least seems a bit spontaneous,** with a slightly goofy, human quality. I admit this is hard to judge seeing him once â maybe he always lets his 8-year-old son sit on his stool during his stump speech. But itâs hard to deny the appeal.

Can voters be so dumb? I guess if they are they better have a ton of every voters somewhere to make up for those that won’t vote.
I must be wrong: I thought Kaus was a leftie, but he is saying exactly what I think many conservatives are saying-—Rubio is very slick and not to be trusted. Kaus nails it: “Modules” That is exactly what I hear when I hear Rubio talk.
Well, it's a hell of a lot better than if McGovern had ended up running things. And he's actually running again in this very election.
And "Make America Snow Again" was kind of funny.
“He’s slicker, in part, because he at least seems a bit spontaneous”
When I see him in the debates, and in TV appearances, he looks very unspontaneous—like he’s memorized note cards and delivers his talking points in his rat-a-tat style before he forgets it.
Kaus is a old time Leftie who is still concerned about helping working class and lower Americans. He understands admitting tens of millions of 3rd worlders destroys any chance of for poor Americans to advance up the economic ladder.
Don't like him on immigration, though I could tolerate some of it as long as the border is secured. and a big push on e-verify is essential. The biggest gap in the entire immigration system.

Would you trust Rubio and the word “some” in the same sentence?
THey really need to get rid of Trump so Marco has a clear shot. It will only take one federal judge to put such a cloud over Cruz on the NBC issue that the media will drive his chances into the ground. And after NH another one or more will fold their tents and endorse Rubio, which will give him another boost. We’ve all seen this movie before.
I don't trust what Trump said in 2012, his recent comments to those dreamers, or his comment that those deported by force (which I don't believe will happen) can come back "expeditiously". And I think Ted has been ambiguous on what he is going to do with the illegals already here.
My red lines at this point are 1) secure the border/e-verify, and 2) anyone who entered illegally is barred from citizenship unless they leave and go to the back of the line. Work permits or legal status of some kind for most of the ones already here is probably inevitable. I don't like it, but I think that's realistic.
I don't think you'll get deportation of everyone here through Congress.
(Rush pointed out Tuesday -- along w/other media outlets -- that multiple Rubio staffers were doin' the same...)
Elsewise your complaints tend to ring rather hollow.
As if you were targeting Cruz ONLY because he's the front-runner.
Which is rather exploitive (& crassly so)
Which also portrays your alleged "outrage" as...
...selective...
...feigned (faux)...
A lot of guys are good at the state level, then open the old border.
The border is NOT going to be “re-secured” by Mr. Amnesty. He has repeated this enough times you have no excuse if he takes you in. He is interested in keeping the border open, and in peddling a “path to citizenship.” All the other crap, even his “biggest blow” to Obamacare-—which so far is pure hype, and we don’t know if it will ever actually amount to anything-—is meaningless.
Agree.
"Jon Favreau, former White House speechwriter for President President Obama, tweeted Tuesday that the White House appreciated Rubioâs stance on illegal immigration."
ANYONE who supports 0bama's immigration invasion WILL NEVER GET MY VOTE!
That's equally true of all the other guys running. Ted Cruz's career in the Senate has even fewer accomplishments than Rubio's - a bunch of grandstanding with nothing accomplished. Will he actually go through with any of his promises? Who knows?
Donald Trump has never been involved in government at all other than buying favors, so it's a WAG whether he follows through of any of his promises either.
