During an interruption from a person Donald Trump described as a "Bernie plant," another audience member shouted out: "Immigrants are the backbone of this country."
"No," Trump responded. "I don't think so, darling. They're not the backbone. I'll tell you what... Let me just tell you something. You know the backbone of our country? People that came to this country legally and they worked their ass off and made this country great."

Trump is the only candidate that doesn’t speak “politispeak”...He talks like everyday, normal Americans think and speak...
One second of our fifteen minutes.......
Actually, I'm very happy he's pivoting back to what's important, whoever gave him the heads up.
Let’s go ahead and take credit.
My real computer is sitting in drying compound after the dog tipped a cup of coffee onto it and the computer began sending out whirring intermittent beeps and clunks and cascading windows.
All my files, of course.
I need a positive.
Let’s take credit, OK?
Trump was responding to a
question” from an Audience DemoncRat plant who was from S.CA touting how wonderful Illegals are because they do the work that Americans won’t do and they help build this Country.
I guess you would prefer the McCain response about Americans not willing to pick Lettuce for $50 and hour.
That's right, no proof. Actually read the article. The case was initially tossed out. The liability finding was that he should have known...
The appeals court found that if the Trump parties had not known of the Polish workers, âthey should have known.â
This is known as a legal 'deep pockets' finding. Go after the one with the money. I am sure Trump has learned from this, given he fired the person who should have known. What else you got?
That’s the Trump we’ve been waiting for. Tell it!
Go Trump! Beautiful response...
Trump definitely owns the illegal alien issue in this campaign, as he’s the guy who rightly made it front and center. And yes, he is strongly stating this without nuance. I applaud that and I wish other republican candidates would follow his lead.
But he has also strongly stated without nuance that Cruz is a nasty, ineligible liar, whom no one likes, and that Carson’s biography is unbelievable and that Carson himself is as pathological as a child molester. Yet just today we see reports that he has always liked Cruz and would not rule him out as a VP pick, and he had previously described Carson as wonderful.
I appreciate a man who makes clear, unambiguous statements, but when he then makes an equally clear, unambiguous statement of a contrary position the next day, I can’t take him seriously, and I can’t have any confidence in what he will actually do.
Sorry about your computer. May it get well soon.
The best news (as you well know): There is something good going to come of it.
Trump pivoted back to what initially worked for him, his attacks on Cruz from the left were backfiring.
I would ask not will enough voters believe him, but can he be trusted based on his lifelong liberalism?
May the Force be with you, Lake.
:>)
This is where he shines.
That time Trump had a meeting with DREAMers and said âyou convinced meâ on immigration
âYou know, the truth is I have a lot of illegals working for me in Miami,â he told them, using the term for undocumented immigrants those in the meeting found offensive. âYou know in Miami, my golf course is tended by all these Hispanics â if it wasnât for them my lawn wouldnât be the lawn it is, itâs the best lawn,â Pacheco recalled Trump saying.
Trump: Move Non-Criminal Illegals âBack Inâ Legally, Iâll âDo Somethingâ With DREAMers
âThen we have a law, right? Youâre supposed to come in legally. I would get people out, and I would have an expedited way of getting them back into the country so they can be legal.â

See, this is a statement by Trump I can get behind. When he tones down his inner Rickles and gets back to balance is when I like him best, the attack dog crap just turns me off.
The good Trump.
You betcha, Donald!!

I agree. But then again, he hasn’t made one vote yet to raise taxes, open borders, destabilize the middle east, etc.
“People that came to this country legally and they worked their ass off and made this country great.”
Well said! Very true.
The ironic thing is. Trump in his construction projects (when he actually did them as opposed to licensing his name) and hotels has hired more illegal aliens than most any other businessman in America.
He actually employed more illegals than just about anyone in history.
He was part of the driving force in causing them to come and stay in the first place.
No argument from me...that's the truth.
