If Carson follows through on doing something about this, I have a feeling there will be a lot of Caucus goers who did change their vote to Cruz because of the lies being told that Carson was dropping out.
I think it’s going to be bigger number than expected. If they changed their vote to Cruz, then Cruz was their second choice and they would not be expecting a dirty trick.
I’ve heard Rubio was doing the same thing, but I haven’t seen any proof about his campaign. Anyone see proof that Rubio’s campaign did it too?
I've not seen "hard proof" such as an e-mail sent by top Rubio staff. But some kid named Conrad Close, working for Rubio, Tweeted "Rubio campaign pushing hard the narrative that Carson is dropping out. Obviously looking to pick up votes from Carson."
This was later deleted, but can be Googled, Binged, etc.
Now Close is saying this was not official from Rubio's campaign, just something he saw on Twitter. But, I dunno - usually what a person says when they have no hint of themselves being in hot water is closest to the truth. Rubio's people might also have been smart enough to not leave an obvious Tweet trail from the top, but that's conjecture on my part.
Previously, multiple hardcore Cruzers were arguing "Rubio did it too", but it may be they had no hard proof either. So I guess I've backed down to "strong suspicion."
