A group of 51 refugees were brutally assaulted outside a night club in Murmansk, Russia, after they groped and molested women at a night club Saturday. Ads by ZINC

The refugees had previously been ordered to leave Norway for “bad behavior” and tried their luck in Russia. What they didn’t realize when they went out clubbing in Murmansk is that Russians have less tolerance when it comes to sexual assault on local women than other European countries.

Go there for a visit. It's not cheap but it's well worth the trip. My husband and I went to St. Petersburg a few years ago. Their newspapers print ANYTHING but the "Pravda." Well, that was OUR read.

Well, I knew this when it was called the Soviet Union. Maybe not much has changed. When I was in USAFE, I knew 3 guys that went to St Petersburgh, but I went to other places.
When I worked in a California prison, I worked with a female doctor, who was not only gorgeous, but also from St Petersburgh. She told me she did not speak a word of English when she arrived in Anerica, but was able to go to medical school.
I worked with 4 other Russians in California. It was interesting to hear their stories.

A lot about a Jewish wedding in America depends on how religious the family is and how well off they are. The less religious they are, times the more well off they are, equals a heck of a lavish reception! But rich or poor, religious or not, there are usually a group of very endearing customs, like the groom stomping on a goblet and breaking it as part of the wedding ritual, the guests dancing the horah in a circle, and the bride and groom being carried around the reception aloft by the groomsmen, seated on chairs. Maybe not so much any more, but there used to be klezmer music at most Jewish weddings. It's really fun!

Police decided to let the beatings slide and didn't file a report. The only thing they could confirm was that there was "a mass brawl involving refugees."

I sure hope that there's some of those Russians around me if I ever need protecting, cause not to disparage the many fine FReeper men on this forum who'd do the same thing, but I wouldn't trust American men to respond like that any more.

No, they acquired medical aid. Russians are not that malicious.
In another Russian town Ryazan Moslem refugees too tried to deny to pay for goods in a shops and harass women. Cossack patrol punished them with lashes and those who fled away were beaten by locals but not severely. Those with experience in Russia will dissuade other candidates to seek refugee in Russia.

I recall some of my elders describing a ‘blanket party’, where the men would knock on the door of an offender’s house, and when he answered a blanket would be tossed over his head and he’d be instructed in the ways of proper behavior at the end of a 2x4.
