RUSH: Jimmy Carter. Grab sound bite number 26. This is yesterday in London in Parliament, Jimmy Carter addressing the House of aristocrats (i.e., the House of Lords).
CARTER: If I had a choice of Republican nominees --
RUSH: You do.
CARTER: -- let's just say, for instance, between Cruz and Trump -- I think I would choose Trump, which may surprise some of you. But the reason is that Trump has proven already that he's completely malleable. I don't think he has any fixed opinions that he would really go to the White House and fight for. On the other hand, Ted Cruz is not malleable. He has far-right-wing policies, in my opinion, that would be pursued aggressively if and when he might become president.
RUSH: Well it better happen, because we've been practicing your brand of politics here for eight years minimum, and we're about to end up in the gutter, in the sewer. We gotta do something fast.

RUSH: his is Greg in Rushsylvania, Ohio. It's great to have you on the program, sir. Hello.
CALLER: Hi, Rush. Great to be here. It's an honor and a pleasure to talk to on my 5-2 birthday.
RUSH: Thank you, sir, very much.
CALLER: I just wanted to say that for all the laughs that he got, I don't believe that former President Carter's comments about his willingness to vote for Trump was a joke. I think he was dead serious about that. He wants somebody malleable, and we've had too damn malleable presidents in my lifetime. It's time we got somebody up there willing to stand his ground and fight the fight until it's over, and bring home the win and not Trump.
RUSH: Well, I think you're right. I think Jimmy Carter was being serious. I mean, Jimmy Carter's not trying to be funny. He doesn't know how to be funny. Has Jimmy Carter ever tried to be funny? He was being dead serious. He's over there in the House of Aristocrats, and he's out there saying what he doesn't like about Trump and what he likes about Trump and doesn't like about Cruz. (paraphrased) "Cruz is rock solid, right-wing. We're not gonna change Cruz min. He's committed.
"But Trump, he's malleable. We can work with Trump. I would much prefer Trump over Cruz." That makes total sense if you're Jimmy Carter, that you would be petrified of a committed Reagan conservative. You'd be scared to death! I mean, Jimmy Carter basically is the failure he is because of Ronaldus Magnus. It makes perfect sense that he would want somebody walking in the shadows and the shoes of Ronaldus Magnus to lose. I think that's one of the greatest endorsements Cruz could have gotten.
By the way, did you see, folks, that the Nobel Committee has been advised that Donald Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize? Well, so was I. I was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. When was this? It might have been 2007 or 2008. The Landmark Legal Foundation nominated me for the Nobel Peace Prize. I was officially nominated. It was a real deal. That would be 2007-2008. That was the year Obama won it. I think it was the year Obama won it.
Obama won the peace prize on the come -- and they have said that if they could, they'd take it back, because he's been a war president. He's not been a pacemaker. He has not stopped wars. (interruption) Okay, 2007 is when it was. Donald Trump's in august company now. He also has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. Anyway, Greg, thanks for the call. I appreciate it.

Cruz supporters don’t try to burn down Trump?
Carter is the new hero of the St. Cruz caucus.
There’s enough blame to go around. But after Iowa its become alot more one way than the other. IMO.
The point really hasn't been DRIVEN HOME.
Maybe another 30 times or so...
Rush didn’t really want to talk about it I see.
Twittergate or CleanUndiesGate is lighting up the side panel these days.
AOL commie news reports this as a lead story. King Weasel would rather see Trump nominated. As if we care...
Even a blind squirrel gets a walnut now and then.
Carter just realized that CRUZ raised ‘that rabbit’ in a TEXAS FFA program in middle school.
Sweet! I was the first one! Do a search for the nothing story about Cruz’s campaign telling people about Carson’s schedule. Those stories make up 20% of the sidebar.
Other than Congressman Steve King and some other members of Congress has any member of the US senate endorsed the greatest conservative in the history of the senate? I can’t think of a one. So if there are 100 US senators, half of them have to be republicans, so take away one, that being the great conservative Cruz, that leaves 49 senators he works with and not a one have endorsed him. So the question of the day is, why? If Cruz thinks he’s so qualified to be president, why hasn’t one republican senator came to his defense and endorsed him? Well that tells me that 49 people that he works with thinks he would not make a good president. But to hear Cruz tell it he’s the second coming of Ronald Reagan. What’s wrong with all these senators. Well they must be all crazy.
“Whatever Carter does, do the opposite.
Pretty simple really.”
Or you can think for yourself like an adult?
Wild notion, I know.
Well that sucks for Trump.
PS Carter was the worst President since Harding. Well, until Obama came along...
JimRob is going to have to start putting these people in time out again.
These people continuously reporting the same stories 6 times a day is getting tiresome.
Me too.
“Iâve noticed many Trump supporters have gone from promoting their guy to burning down Cruz, prolly because of this kind of news.”
We all here on Free Republic can vouch for the fact that Cruz supporter NEVER, EVER try to burn down Trump, yes siree.
I should’ve added ‘burn down Cruz with patently false BS’.
“Carter playing reverse psychology”
No. He is just supporting another Democrat.
