It doesn’t matter. It was Cruz’s responsibility to make sure Carson was dropping out - by placing a phone call or texting. He didn’t because he knew he’d probably get an answer he didn’t want to hear. I hope the other candidates take note and watch this very slippery customer.
Doesn’t shock me but at end of the day whom ever gets the nomination they’ll all support. And then there will be rallying calls that we’d gotta around the nominee, support him blah blah oh and We gotta beat Hillary Rodham Clinton, at all costs and Constitutional principles be damned original intent out the widow, we gotta compromise and settle for whomever because gosh darn it beating Hillary is just that important.
Exactly right. This is all CNN’s fault. Everyone that is using it to smear Cruz is bearing false witness.
Carson, in his letter to his donors, is correctly pointing the finger at CNN and not Cruz or anyone on the Cruz staff.
If that it what you associate with Trump, then I feel sorry for you. You see him as an entertainer, so you must come from a reality-show mindset.
In 1990 I read “The Art Of The Deal”, so “snart successful businessman and author” is what I think of. I’ve never seen the show and know nothing about it.
Some watch reality TV; some read.
I thought he was going home to do some laundry? Heh.
Doesn’t matter.
Carson might be dropping out also means that Carson might not be dropping out.
Ted Cruz (and Rubio) made an assumption, and then chose to act on that assumption in a way that benefits them during a vote.
It was their choice as to how to use whatever information they had or did not have.
And the consequence of that choice will be whatever it is. Maybe nothing, maybe something.
Trump’s suggestions of a do over or a law suit are useless.
The only thing that really matters in this is what any given voter in the future makes of Cruz’s and Rubio’s decision to behave as they did.
From my perspective, I see it as Ben Carson, a newbie, swimming in a shark infested pool with bleeding cuts on both of his legs, and two sharks came up and took a bite out of him.
That’s it.
No, it isn’t.
Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio are responsible for the choices they made to use the information available in the way that they did.
They assumed.
And we all know what assume means.
Yes, I watched the CNN video several times. They were expressing surprise that Carson was taking a break, and speculating what it meant. But they never said Carson was quitting, or dropping out or in any way ending his campaign.
The Cruz campaign jumped on the speculation and tried to used it to sway votes to Cruz. That can't be explained away. Something like that should actually carry criminal penalties, but this particular scenario could only play out in a caucus situation when a less than ethical campaign is involved. An ethical campaign would have checked to be sure the speculation was correct before spreading it around to caucus sites and trying to influence voters.
I’ll preface my comments by saying that I’m not making any predictions about who might win NH...time will tell.
This being said, if Trump does win NH, will Rush apply the same techniques/thoughts that he’s been applying to Cruz’s win in Iowa? Will Rush proclaim that a win for Trump in NH was due to Trump’s superior campaigning and ground game? Will Rush try to find negatives about Cruz that cost him a NH win?
Again, I’m not predicting anything, but if Rush is still bashing Trump, if Trump does indeed win NH, then it will solidify my belief that Rush is a hypocrite applying one set of standards for Cruz, and another set to Trump.
It really is sad rush has given Rubio a pass on the Gang of 8, considering this could’ve destroyed our nation as founded, and provided the Dems a forever voting base.
So if I were you Big girl I wouldn’t take these flame wars, seriously. Happens every Presidential cycle, and at end of it every one will be friends again. Plus these good numbers, for the thread remains me of days, of old.
That is my plan.
Regardless of who I complain about in this primary, and at this point I’m pretty much complaining about all of them, even my guy Trump, I’m going to support the nominee.
I have no choice.
Even if it’s friggin’ Jeb... God Help me.
I suppose it was also CNN’s fault that Cruz mailed out those fake Voter Violation “official” documents which voting officials condemned.
No, neither Cruz or Rubio are responsible. CNN reported something, and a staffer repeated what CNN said. There is no malfeasance here.
To me, this all just seems like people being sore losers.
That is my plan.
Regardless of who I complain about in this primary, and at this point Iâm pretty much complaining about all of them, even my guy Trump, Iâm going to support the nominee.
I have no choice.
Even if itâs frigginâ Jeb... God Help me.

Sadly, many Freepers who support Cruz, will only vote for Cruz. They’re already threatening to stay home...again!
I will be happy to vote for Cruz or Trump. I will NOT allow Berny or Hillary to finish the destruction on our nation that Barry has almost completed!
Why would that be? One has nothing to do with the other. If you didn’t like the mailers, that’s fine, but it has nothing to do with this tweet flap.
Hahaha! “How could you see that and ever vote democrat!” Heeheehee I want to try saying that every time the chance comes up.
Have a good and blessed day Everyone “Open Line Fridays” tomorrow!
God bless you Biggirl.
I don’t care if Trump lost.
Trump lost, because he didn’t do enough to secure a win. If you say you are going to win so much that people are going to get sick of winning, then you had best win, otherwise you look pretty stupid. Trump failed to do that, pure and simple. He wasn’t cheated.
However, Cruz and Rubio both revealed that they will do questionable things for votes, which is why I have called them both whores.
They chose to assume that Carson was going to drop out before he actually did drop out, which he has not done. Based on that choice, they made a play for his voters using an erroneous conclusion. Oops.
Their choice, their mistake. The egg is on their faces.
That’s all there is to it.
If people choose to make something of that choice, then something will be made of it, if not, then nothing.
