Ben Carson, speaking to reporters at the National Press Club Wednesday, said "it's obvious" that Ted Cruz 's underhanded tactics directly influenced the Iowa caucus results.
"I have been very, very concerned for a very long time about what was happening with our nation and with our government," Carson explained. "Why is it the American people are so restless? Why do they not trust the government?"
"I make no bones about the fact that I am a person of faith," the former neurosurgeon continued. "I believe what it says in Matthew 7:20, the Sermon on the Mount, 'by their fruit you will know them.' Know people not by what they say, but by what they do."
Carson would go on to stress that he hopes the American people not only judge himself, but "all the other people running" for president by that same standard so they are "less likely to make a mistake."
Furthermore, Carson stressed voters "need to think truly about our children" and "what kind of image are we setting for them" by voting for certain candidates.
"Are we holding up the highest values and principles... or are we settling for what we consider to be the best we can get? We can get complete excellence and settle for nothing less."
Carson told CNN's Jake Tapper on Tuesday that while he accepts Cruz's apology, he still believes the Texas senator needs to impose real consequences on his campaign staff.
Bu-bye Carson. You are a great surgeon and a nice man. Presidential material? No.
Wow. Never heard Dr. Ben get angry before. Elmer Gantry should pack his bags.
Interestingly enough, Cruz asks the same thing - check my (voting) record. Carson doesn’t have a political record, neither does Trump (just donations and such). The remainder of the candidates all have records, and they are not good...in this conservatives opinion.
Cruz the ‘Seventh King Snake Handler’ is beyond good or evil, he is the Chosen Teddy.
Wrong. Cruz personally said Carson was not going to Iowa but that he, Cruz, was staying in the race.
This isn’t complicated. Cruz saw entrance polls and grabbed at Carson’s going home as a life preserver. He went out to 1,500 Precinct captains that Carson was out and get Carson’s votes.
All this “blame the victim” talk isn’t going to change the fact that Cruz will do anything to win, just like every other politician.
“You just better hope (and pray) that your boy doesn’t take a swing at somebody. Narcissists are dangerous like that when challenged.”
Get over yourself. Trump has never in history hit someone, beat up someone, no violence. If you think this is some sort of stress situation, I think you are making hay out of nothing. Trump has been in way more stressful situations then running for President. He is more in control then most candidates quite frankly. But you continue with your fake outrage. It is silly.
Ok let’s do that. Cruz stopped amnesty in the Senate. He’s got my vote :-)
Frankly, Ted Cruz is a lying scumbag.
But he’s OUR lying scumbag.
It all falls back to Carson’s anger that he wanted to make an honorable exit on his terms and control that.....it didn’t work. His campaign was falling apart in Dec. this is all just a man who wanted to hang in there long enough to score before bowing out.
If Carson is honest why is he blaming Cruz when he knows it was his staffer. He knows Rubio and Paul did the same thing yet he doesn’t blame them. Is that honest?
“Bu-bye Carson. You are a great surgeon and a nice man. Presidential material? No.”
Probably true, but if he takes Cruz down then God Bless him because he was wronged and deserves retribution.
If other posts are accurate, his national director is a Lee Atwater type. For years pubbies have been pining for another Lee Atwater. Well, we have one (apparently).
Oh good grief. Carson is not going to take down Cruz.
Dream on.
“Dirty tricks” in American Presidential politics go back to at least the 1800 election. It is just part of the game.
Take a look at this thread as an example - notice which side the hatred and gratuitous insults are coming from.
Interesting......he has already lost points in NH. It is starting. Saturday night will be interesting.
BTTT!
Cruz will handle it fine. I don’t know about Rubio.
