The 9/11 Health Bill makes no sense to me. In New York City, firemen, policemen, and other city workers have excellent medical benefits. Why would these workers need additional health insurance or medical coverage?

It is not 100% coverage.

Can you be more specific, Trumpinator? I used to be an employee of the City of New York and the medical benefits were as extensive, and less expensive (for me, the employee), than the medical coverage I've had working at good Wall Street investment firms. It's been almost fifteen years since 9/11. What ailments do rescue workers suffer from that are not being covered by their health insurance?
I'm not doubting there are people who are suffering; I'm just wondering why their current or former employers’ health plans are not taking care of them.

It may not be 100% coverage, but it does have a catastrophic out of pocket limit that is usually around 4 to 5 thousand per family. Additionally, work related illnesses and injuries should be covered under worker’s compensation.
