Rand Paul’s departure is good for Ted Cruz in New Hampshire
Boston Globe ^ | February 3, 2016 | Eric Levenson

Rand Paul's loss looks to be Ted Cruz's gain in New Hampshire.

With polling averages in the low single digits, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul dropped out of the presidential primary on Wednesday morning. And analysis of recent polling data suggests his libertarian-leaning supporters will move toward Cruz, the brash U.S. senator from Texas.

"Cruz has a libertarian streak as well," said Dante Scala, an associate professor of political science at University of New Hampshire. “His big concern is to build a bridge between...

Ted won playing playing dirty pool. Not what a “principled” conservative should do, nor is it anything anyone should be proud of.

Yep. I can’t believe the size of the blind spot that has developed when it comes to a very large chunk of conservatives and that music man, Donald Trump.

Pretty selective "outrage" on your part, eh, Dynoman.

You post the tweet @ post #56...but you haven't on this thread -- or any other you've posted on today or yesterday -- about this tweet re: the Rubio campaign. Why not? (If this is such a "moral indignation" issue to you?)

From Uh Oh, Was Marco Rubio Guilty In The Ben Carson Dropout Rumor?

Excerpt from this link: What has not been said much throughout the day is that Florida Senator Marco Rubio‘s campaign worked actively to spread the message that Carson was leaving the presidential race. These actions were reported on Twitter by Conrad Close who, according to his Twitter profile, is the managing editor of Outset Magazine.

[You can go to the link to see a snapshot of Close's actual tweet...it reads:

"Rubio campaign pushing the narrative hard that Carson is dropping out. Obviously looking to pick up votes."]

Per the link above: "Another interesting little tidbit about Close, that he shouts from the rooftops with his Twitter profile picture, is that he is Team Rubio with the statement below his picture, 'I’m voting for Marco Rubio.'

[So, it's not like Close was "anti-Rubio" & was attempting to sabotage him]

I call you & other FR posters out on this.

If you've ONLY targeted Cruz, who the Carson team went after ONLY a SINGLE Cruz staffer on this rumor...yet have ignored 100% Rubio, who Rush confirmed yesterday MULTIPLE staffers were involved in rumor-mongering...then it all comes across as crass exploitive targeted of THE front-runner...NOT as some moral issue sticking in your craw.

'Fess up.

You realize that CIA “patriot” works for Cruz and lied in a tweet he deleted??

Can you provide a credible link (not Conservative Treehouse or it's offspring junk sites) that proves Dan Gabriel works for Cruz (as in showing a staff payment list)? Looks to me he is just an person interested in politics that tweeted what most of us thought after the CNN report (and what Carson had alluded to when he said if he didn't do good he would reevaluate).

Ted won playing playing dirty pool. Not what a “principled” conservative should do, nor is it anything anyone should be proud of.

And if you're going to stand on principled vs. "unprincipled" political shenanigans, STILL waiting for your VERY FIRST negative FR comment about MULTIPLE Rubio staffs rumor-mongering along the same lines as to what ONE Cruz staffer did. (Carson team only went after a SINGLE Cruz staffer on this...asking him to be fired...Cruz apologized for the actions of his staffer...more than what Rubio has done over the actions of several staffers)

Otherwise, your huffing & puffing & attempting to blow the Cruz campaign down comes across as crass. Exploitive. (IoW...not very "principled" ... or moral, I might add)

Amen! Go Cruz Go! To all those who think Cruz played dirty, hogwash.

Cruz is just playing hardball, which he and any conservative will have to do, to get elected and govern effectively afterward.

I don't want a mealy mouth, Mr. Rogers type as my candidate or my president, because nice guys who play fair, and are afraid to get down and dirty on our side get rolled over, and Democrats get what they want.

Like it or not, politics is a no holds bared blood sport, the way the Democrats play it, so we need a guy on our side who'll be willing to give them a taste of their own medicine.

Again it’s NOT about me I’m not running. So quit making it about me.

Rubio never crammed “principled” down out throats like the Cruz camp has. That’s why it’s much worse for Cruz to play gutter politics. He acted like he was above that. Instead he went into the toilet like every other status quo political turd does.

I would have happily voted for Crus as the nominee, but now voting for him will be another “cream of the crap” vote.

Another thing, if as you claim (this fellow worked for Cruz), why would he tweet to the world something that would insider help a particular campaign if they kept is in house only, but would hurt for the other campaigns find out (negating the advantage).

If I worked for Cruz and found out that Carson was dropping out, I would pm my boss first (Cruz admins) and have them pm the message to campaign workers on the ground level. I would not say it out loud for all to hear and lose the competitive edge (by risking other campaign finding it out too).

We don’t have a monopoly on the term “Loose lips sink Ships”.

Prove to me he worked for Cruz other than just hearsay.

I did click the link (even though you used google spy search) and I read a bunch of crappy CTH crap that did not prove once that he worked for Cruz. You made that claim, now please prove to me what you said. You said that this man worked for Cruz (as in received a paycheck). I want proof he did.

Ah. Interesting angle here. I directly accuse you of inconsistency (another word for outward hypocrisy).

So what is your response to that? Why you go after the Cruz jugular & accuse him of hypocrisy/inconsistency!

Here is something you've engaged in on MULTIPLE threads today -- open inconsistency -- and then on your response you indicate that Cruz' inconsistency bothers you.

How interesting. 'Tis like the Biblical story Jesus told of somebody forgiven MUCHO debt who then goes after somebody who owes him $.

Tell us. If inconsistency bothers you so much, why have you been practicing it on so many threads today?

Again it is NOT about me. What don’t you understand about that?

It is about the candidates in the race - specifically one who was said to be the most principled in the race. Turns out that too was a lie.

“If inconsistency bothers you so much”

That is your imaginary strawman. It’s Team Ted’s despicable gutter politics that bothers me. That should be obvious, everyone else reading seems to understand that.
