Exactly my point. My father was of Reagan’s generation; in fact, my Dad was born only 6 months later, in 1911. Generally, men back then had better manners and more self-control of their impulses. It was just instilled in them, by their parents. And it’s not something that modern folks can’t learn, even if they are Trump’s age.

You can thank the damned RED DIAPER BABIES, who spear headed America's cultural decline, in the early '60s...taking over the college campuses. The "FREE SPEECH MOVEMENT" was begun at BERKLEY, IN 1964. That took a while to cross the nation, but it did and then came the stupid Drugs, Sex, and anti-American garbage in '68.
Adults and children still were clinging to traditional manners, which the SDSers, WEATHER UNDERGROUND types, and the tragically STUPID kids who followed men, who were far closer to being 40 than 25, telling them : "DON'T TRUST ANYONE OVER 30" !
But lets face it....that was all a very long time ago and Trump saying "BOMB THE SHIT OUTTA THEM" is NOT as shocking as Rhett Butler telling Scarlet :"Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn" was in '39 !
