A New York Times op-ed argues that Obamaâs visit to the Islamic Society of Baltimore mosque âdemonstrates tacit acceptance of a form of gender apartheid.â
From the New York Times:
As President and Michelle Obama argued decades ago in the context of the U.S. civil rights movement, separate is indeed unequal. To Muslim womenâs rights activists fighting for equal access to mosques as part of a broader campaign for reform â from equal education for women and girls to freedom from so-called âhonor killingsâ â the presidentâs visit to a mosque that practices such blatant inequity represents a step backwards. While it may be meant to convey a message of religious inclusiveness to American Muslims, the visit demonstrates tacit acceptance of a form of discrimination that amounts to gender apartheid. For that reason, we will be standing outside the mosque on Johnnycake Road, as close as the Secret Service allows, to protest the separate and unequal standards inside and advocate for equal rights.
We believe it is the role of government to protect womenâs rights within religion, if a place of worship gets federal nonprofit benefits, just as it protects civil rights in the secular space. Places of worship in the U.S.would not be allowed tax-exempt status if, for example, they were to seat African Americans in segregated spaces. To condone the mosqueâs gender segregation is particularly ironic coming days after the White House announced efforts to win equal pay for women and increased workplace benefits for women in the military.
President Obama should be aware that on any given day a woman or girl worshiping in the mosque would be dispatched away from the musallah where he will stand to speak out against âIslamophobia,â to the âprayer room for females,â as one worshipper described it.

He loves the sound of imams in the morning.

“Muslim Women’s Rights”
People in New York keep these people, these senseless people, in business
The New York Times
They are idiotic.
Liberals are only concerned with women’s rights when it is convenient for them to be.
I have said for years that the dem party is made up of many factions and over time, it appears, these factions are becoming fractured not coalesced and not everybody under the big tent likes each other. muslims do not like Jews, Christians or gays. Americans of all stripes are starting to see islam for what it is, even though our prez is a salesman for the muzzies.
I regard the following as axioms.
Experience has taught that you should never trust a man, or a nation, or a religion that denigrates women!
Any society that holds women in low esteem is doomed to madness... just see the Middle East for the proof!
No one likes Ubama. No one.
And never mind their murderous attitudes towards gays.
p..s
I have know Muslim women. They are quite sanctimonious about their ‘modesty’ and quite vicious.
They don’t respect people outside the cult at all, no matter what you do.
The radical left groups are beginning to eat themselves.
This is true; they can be the absolute most religious and vicious indeed; after all, it’s usually WOMEN that make up the majority members of any church. They’d better be careful and discerning which one they choose. As the knight said in “Raiders of the Lost Ark”, “Choose Wisely”....
Why aren’t they satisfied with the more familiar ‘women to one side of a prayer hall, men to the other side’ policy?
Obama’s Dictate:
Ladies, if you like your clitoris, you can keep your clitoris.
Wait until the Muslim women have to register for the draft! Well they have to wear their burqa?
Classic misdirection by the NYT.
