The Berlin Senate has announced an audacious, and some would say totally inappropriate plan to house 10,000 migrants in mid level to luxury hotels in the city with a total price tag of at least 600 million euros.
The senate has requested a contract with Grand City Hotels to lease out 22 hotels to house migrants in the city. According to German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine the senate entered negotiations with London-based Hampton Holding, the owners of the popular Holiday Inn and Wyndam hotels in Berlin.

There has been outrage across social media platforms in Germany and elsewhere on the deal with many commenting on how there are an estimated four to ten thousand homeless on the streets of Berlin and that there has been no mention of them by the senate.
Luxury accommodations for migrants have already been provided in Sweden, as Breitbart reported back in November when Swedish government agencies took luxury cruise ships for housing for migrants as well as ski resorts and hotels.

I had heard an interview with a person who had the job of teaching refugees how to live in a civilized society.

Just the City/State going for the free Federal money and doing a favor for their friends. Same as parking busses where you know they will be destroyed by the hurricane or letting a forest fire get really big before you try to put it out. If you know the Feds are gonna pay cost plus then by all means run up the tab.
Follow the money- does Merkel have financial interest in these hotels.
Your question presumes that other guests would be staying in the hotel. Once the migrants arrive, I’m thinking that there would be very few, if any, paying guests remaining.

Here is how I see it. The government will take the hotels, by force, if necessary. The swine will burn them down. Then the government will give the hotels back, and say, so sue us to pay for the damage.

Actually, this morning in Berlin, there was another update to this story.
The hotel chain involved is only talking TWO hotels, which total out at 93 rooms. They are both considered Pensions (German lingo for a hotel with typical two-star ranking and basic essentials only). For an American, it’d be even a step down from a Motel-6 operation.
The hotel chain stated that 50 Euro a night per room was their bottom line. The Berlin city ‘senate’ said they were only willing to pay 10 Euro. So the deal in this matter is far from over.
Whichever idiot journalist picked up the story...really screwed up because it’s not a done deal and with 93 rooms....it really won’t be much of a solution. I think some insider is trying to work up a deal where the city actually buys the two buildings in question for city requirements.
I think the Bavarians got it right. Muslims out! Go to Berlin! Now where are the Saxons, Prussians and Bohemians in this?

They didn't get it. Hope if that issue arises over there, they will have the same luck - but I doubt it - it seems mass insanity has infected officials of many European nations.
