We enjoyed watching Earl Campbell (The Tyler Rose) immensely when we lived in Houston. He is really crippled up these days. I think he’s on the athletic staff at UT, but can barely walk. At least that’s the last I heard of him.

I’ve seen some video of him. Very sad.

I had the honor in having dinner with Stabler, Campbell,&& Tony Fritz(sp?) Mike Griffin who's bar sponsored the “Oiler Army” back in Houston.
Griff was running or a city council seat and I was helping out with advertising..
It was the most enjoyable evening ..... It was fun hearing from these hero's of mine.. The most. Funny stories they told on each other

I saw an interesting documentary on Earl Campbell. Apparently his knees are pretty banged up, but his most serious injuries are more likely linked to a chronic defect in his spinal column that was never noticed until after he retired from the NFL. They said if it had been diagnosed in a physical exam back then, he probably would have been advised not to play football at all.
