The reply was no, he’s going to Florida - btw the change of clothes was a joke - He was going to Florida, then to DC Prayer Breakfast where he was speaking. He will be at the debate on Saturday and nothing was ever said about him dropping out of the race.
Cruz ran with an unsourced story, 20 minutes before the caucuses started. Candy Carson was at a caucus event and had to shoot down the story herself.

The big issue was more about Carson not campaigning in NH and SC. And of that, CNN said: “Look. If you want to be President of the United States, you don’t go to Florida. I mean, that’s just bottom line. That’s the end of the story.”
