Megyn Kelly Praises Marco Rubio: ‘You Are Very Smooth’

Fox News host Megyn Kelly defended Sen. Marco Rubio after Chris Christie accused the freshman senator of being too scripted and avoiding tough questions on the campaign trail.

“Do you take offense at him calling you a boy, a boy in a bubble?” Kelly asked Rubio during an interview with him on the campaign trail in New Hampshire.

“As far as answering questions, Megyn, I’ve been with you at least once a week,” Rubio responded. “We did a debate, you’ve asked me tough questions … others have asked me tough questions.”

“Lots of them,” Kelly agreed.“I answer tough questions all the time,” Rubio said. “He says you’re too scripted. You are very smooth.” Kelly agreed, describing his speech after the Iowa caucuses as “amazing.”

“You were so articulate, there was no teleprompter,” she added. “To those who say ‘Oh, he’s scripted’ — Is that scripted or is that just how you talk?”

“That’s what I believe,” Rubio replied. “And obviously when you’re running a campaign you’re driving a message, but why would I tell people anything other than what I believe passionately?”

“Well I will vouch for you — that you have come on the Kelly File regularly and you always sit for the tough questions.” Kelly replied. “And I’ll note for the record, you never complain, never once — even if we ask really tough questions, which I appreciate.”

I used to be Rush’s biggest fan. Had to stop listening when he went off KFI and now he doesn’t sound like the same guy.

I’m sure he must run in social circles where Rubio is the man. But Rush used to despise the country club Republicans.

I was ready for President Hillary last year; I was not going to do the GOPe vote again. Was so happy to have both Cruz and Trump in the race. Now look at this mess.

Yes, I see that. As far as I’m concerned, the guy is not trustworthy, with one of the worst records of absenteeism in the Senate. He should be fired by the voters. If he has to, I hope Trump highlights was a miserable record Rubio has. I don’t think I have to worry about Trump doing just that if Rubio stays in serious contention.

The way I see it, Trump is going to fade fast as soon as this gets down to a three man race, leaving Cruz and Rubio to fight it out.

Personally, I think both are conservative but Rubio is much better at appealing to people with his message. Cruz comes across as way too strident, and really has trouble connecting with a crowd. Both the last debate and his acceptance speech demonstrated that.

Obama’s speaking ability got him the presidency. I suspect it will be the same with Rubio, but I expect a far better result.

Should be interesting following the threads in here if it ever becomes apparent that Rubio is going to be the nominee. If he has supporters here, they’ve been keeping their heads down.

She’ll turn on Cruz like a rapid dog - it’s such a damn drama anymore I’m surprised anyone stays tuned in to this garbage.
