So, it is the obligation of veterans and our elected leaders to educate people on this issue -- to stand up and scream from the heavens when something stupid like this is about to happen. By linking women in combat MOS's with draft registration, these two generals have given us that wedge issue to get peoples' attention.
The old "well, you wanted it, you got it" routine can be satisfying. The problem is that ones who pay the price -- perhaps even with their lives -- are those who still serve in those combat MOS's.
We owe it to them to keep this fight going.
The women in Combat Arms debate has been going on for quite some time.
99% of the women refused to comment.
It sucks to be given the opportunity to weigh-in on a decision and not take it and then get caught in the problem.
