This really isn't the place to talk about this, but here's a kind of Cliff's Notes version:
After WW II, this country was VERY patriotic, children really WERE a "protected class", the theatre and movies were GREAT, actors and actresses, for the most part, could ACT, writers could write, and songs had melodies and NO "F" bombs.
Everyone dressed as well as they were able to afford, nobody walked around almost naked, people still had manners, and yes, illicit substances and those who used them were frowned upon.
The reason that our economy BOOMED, is because most of Europe's factories had been bombed/destroyed. Heck...Americans were even selling spaghetti to Italy! :-)
Not a child of 50’s/60’s but economy got a big boost (domestically) from introduction of TV too, like the 90’s with computers/internet
