Hobby Lobby and Chick-Fil-A never compromised their values to help their profits. Selling out your values for money is prostitution, the very definition of immorality. The idea that money is an excuse to do immoral things is insanity. Did that excuse work for Judas?

I think Trump would say that “the cost of doing business” isn’t necessarily immoral. I think that may be what he was arguing by saying that everybody benefits from eminent domain (except the little guy who gets bought out maybe), because it creates jobs and revenue and/or needed infrastructure that benefits the whole society. And it’s true that Trump has employed a lot of people.

That whole thing of buying politicians, though - I can’t imagine that anybody can’t see how much the society as a whole pays because of that. And it’s troubling if he thinks that kind of quid pro quo should be accepted as “business as usual” that will continue as always if he is POTUS.
