“It STILL looks like Carson is out.”

If so, it’s a shame. After having been one of the lower-polled candidates, he did very well in the caucus with double digits. Imagine how well he could have done if some of his votes hadn’t been stolen from him.

One article said that the precinct where Mrs. Carson was there to correct the mistake ended up going for Carson. The exit polls showed that a large number of people made up their minds at the last minute, and if Carson did so much better than the polls had been showing, it could well be that Carson GAINED votes from this, because the places where voters may have been angered by what they thought was “dirty politics” (because of the timing of the CNN report) were large precincts with lots of votes.

Carson has no campaign events planned, anywhere. It seems likely that he planned on making his big announcement this week but wanted the IA results first, to see exactly where he was at. If I was an IA voter I would be very conflicted over whether to stick with Carson, knowing he wasn’t planning to campaign. I don’t think it’s out of bounds for Cruz to recognize that concern; nobody wants to throw their vote away. By the same token, I don’t blame Carson for wanting to see where he stood and to be able to make his own announcement. He should have thought about that before speaking to CNN.
