Cruz was fighting fire with fire. He knows he has to shift gears in NH. He should have done that last night instead of celebrating.

Can’t help but wonder what the outcome would have been if Cruz hadn’t told that lie and stole votes from Carson. He could have very well been in second or third place. I’m very disappointed in Cruz. I thought he was supposed to be so Christian and principled.

It's astounding to watch this real life drama play out.

Something real good happened when Trump put himself in that "put up or shut up" situation and skipped the final debate and put together the fundraising event for Veterans. I think we got Trump being Trump, and I liked it a lot. He just might really have been moved by the friendship shown by Huck and Santorum and by everything his family and friends did to get it done in such a short time.

I've said this a lot. Trump's personality is a lot like my dad's was. There's the outrageous, silly banter, creative individual thinking, and there's the guy who wants to do good for other people.

Think about how many mountains Trump has moved in his campaign!

Pretty big plus for Trump if his ground game was a bad as it was said to be.

I think the big loser last night was Gov. Branstad.

He said don’t vote for Cruz he will kill the biofuel jobs revenue in Iowa, but he never endorsed its biggest supporter and leader Trump.

So Branstad got his nightmare, Ted Cruz.

Trump finished 5,000 votes behind Cruz, if Branstad a 5 term governor would have endorsed he could have asked his employees to vote and he could have given Trump at least that 5K votes, employees plus their family and the IOWA gop apparatus mobilized for Trump who didn’t have the great ground game and could have used the help.

Branstad played it cute, and cute don’t work.

>> People who really know Trump say he is nothing like his public bluster. In fact quite the opposite. Doesn’t drink, smoke or stay up late...

I have read that, and I have no reason to doubt it.

He is a smart, driven, productive, effective leader. Love him or hate him, it’s tough to build a case against his core abilities. Those sort of folks are usually not given to “riotous living”.

I’ve morphed from pro-Cruz to anti-Trump over the last few weeks. But Trump handled this situation very well, with a gracious concession speech that cast him in a sympathetic light. Had he been operating this way all along we would all be in much better shape.

If he maintains this change in tone, building the movement rather than tearing down others within it, he can emerge as a real leader and perhaps re-gain support from people like me.

My hat is off to him for his moment last night. In my eyes he actually emerges as something of a winner.

Rubio has to be left behind in New Hampshire...

The day after NH we start our primary in TN..

Early voting goes for 10 days starting Wednesday Feb 10-23...with the one day of actually election at the precincts on March 1st..

if Rubio looks good on the 9th, people here in TN might vote for him..

Though Cruz should get a huge amount of votes from the Christians...

Disclaimer: We don’t have any animals called “evangelicals” in Tennessee whatever they might be...

Trump showing the same NY values he showed when he saved the 50th anniversary of WWII Veterans Parade from being cancelled and paid for the parade himself. Trump is much more good than evil. And I don’t believe Trump would have lied about Carson dropping out of the race like Cruz did.

I don’t care how they package Rubio, he will never deport illegals, he will never get around to build the wall, and he will grant amnesty to all 20 million illegals.

Rubio is for sanctuary cities, welfare, education, for illegals, and Rubio believes Anchor babies are citizens.

In other words, he is Murdoch’s perfect candidate.

Something is not right about Rubio.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J38jNRFufUk

It may not have to do with Microsoft’s Cloud although that bears investigating.

A possibility is dem crossovers for Rubio:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3391352/posts

Although many think crossovers would go to Trump, leftists hate Trump but would follow orders of dem leaders to sabotage his showing by voting for Rubio. This reasonable conjecture for an alternative explanation of how to explain the Rubio showing which looks wrought with fraud of some kind.

I suspect that a soft Trump ground game was the key factor. I’ll bet Donald, or his team, thought he could use his style of blanket media coverage, and huge events, to reduce the need for a traditional ground game. Perhaps he thought he could win with a new technique.
