I hadn't heard that NH was using Australian Ballots, where every voter ranks all the candidate then a series of rounds eliminates the low guy until one remains. Is the elimination done statewide (best) or at the precinct level? Either way it requires a lot of extra data entry and would delay the results. In the past NH Primary was always done in the 'US' normal way. Iowa Caucuses on the Rat side has been about as close as US has gotten to Aussie style, not that I'd want to blame that farce on Aussie blokes.

Peer pressure galore on the Iowa Rat side, but our GOP side was fairly clean with secret ballots and minimal electioneering. My precinct offered 2 minutes for candidate representatives to speak. Bush, The main difference is you're locked into a specific block of time, instead of voting briefly whenever. It culls the less motivated voters.

You misunderstand the term Australian ballot. It also called secret ballot, is system of voting in which voters mark their choices in privacy on uniform ballots printed and distributed by the government or designate their choices by some other secret means.
