Interesting you say Longboat Key—I spent many Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays there as a kid at the Sandpiper Inn on the Gulf. Soo many fun memories~not sure I remember the Lazy Lobster though—but then I was a kid... I sure will remember it now!! FANTASTIC LOBSTER?!?! Oh yes, I will remember it :)

Anyway, I had promised my family that I would take them to Sandpiper Inn on Longboat Key if Romney won...in 2012 as I thought the economy would improve, etc...It was a way to ensure that they were all invested in the election and politics ;) Well you know what happened to that plan :(

However, I have re-instituted my plan to take the whole family there if Trump wins :) It is a delightful place! Sort of out of the way...and I know my son will want to take his family to Disney, but I think they will enjoy the low-key atmosphere of the Key :)

If you want to attempt to match IQs, you shall fail and do so miserably.

These rally threads are ONLY for dedicated Trump supporters. They are for FUN, happy discourse, and NOTHING else.

None of us are in the least "afraid" of you, nor the Cruz supporters.

This is NOT a "Safe Space" for us; it is a meeting of like minded FRIENDS. For all intents and purposes, YOU do NOT fit the bill. So WHY would you want to be here? TO DISRUPT !

There are many other threads where you may CHEER Trump on, should you desire to do so, and/or learn what he has said, where he'll be, etc.! I heartily suggest that you get thee hence and leave the nice people here alone.

Ravioli is nice; however, the loss of your Chinese restaurant is one of THE worst things that can happen! :-(

I SO miss the NYC Chinese restaurants of yore!

The one in our town isn't bad; but it isn't that of my childhood.

Yes, it'll no doubt be in the Post. :-)

LOL nope...did not see—too busy posting on FR and emailing—plus getting ready for an early outing tomorrow...

Wish I had. However, most PBS programs are archived, so I will make a note and watch it when I have a chance :) Thanks!

LOL...that's WHY these threads are ALWAYS so neat! We all share many different interests. :-)

We LOVE Longboat and AnnaMaria and go down twice a year to see friends.

The LAZY LOBSTER is about 3 or perhaps 4 years old. It's called "LAZY", because you can have your lobster deshelled in the kitchen, saving you the mess of doing it, if you want to. You can even have a hot or cold lobster roll. They have many different lobster dishes, seafood and fish and yes, even a few beef and IIRC one chicken dish.

My favorite dessert is a warm brownie, engulfed in a cold creme brulee, with berries on top. The other desserts aren't too shabby either.

They always repeat these shows...try to see it.
The more things change, the more they remain the same...especially politics and THAT is all I’ll say! hehehehe

Agreed—we all do share many different interests—yet there are a lot of “small world” moments LOL. You go there twice a year...very cool. Lazy Lobster sounds fabulous—will put that on list for first night :) My daughter has a friend whose family loves Anna Maria key. They do Airbnb or some such thing...I like idea Sandpiper Inn because they are one story and right on gulf—plus fun childhood memories :)

Yes, childhood memories are VERY important and is still there.

The LL is a bit expensive, but well worth it! You can always eat at less "fine" restaurants for a couple of days, to equal it all out. And wait a day before you go, so that you are rested and HUNGRY !

What's SO neat, is that I keep finding great people, on these threads, with whom I share lots of interests with and even down to a shared love of different places. LOL

Life is so hectic, I think a chill hiatus on the beach would do my entire family some good!! Childhood memories are bonus and place is still there!! :)

Good idea to wait a day or two to get good and hungry for Lobster :) ~ grandkids can have chicken fingers LOL.

Agreed on all points about these threads and FReepers...learn so much more than I ever post!

except this time it was with the mother. Rumor has it something big may be about ready to break on Cruz.

Something odd because I have wondered how long it will be before she divorces him (Cruz). Some comment I picked up about her being....well, sort of like the "pant suit", not to be tampered with. Now we smell trouble in paradise. Something cooking. I was originally for Cruz and bought his book. I think I've read 2-3 cps. Enough to cover his childhood and college. Most of the stories he told were about the awful things he did as a child and a student. Reading between the lines, he was a spoiled brat who needed a good thrashing.

The grands can have a lobster roll, a hamburger and they make their own potato chips, which come out warm; they're yummy.

After all of this talk...I'm ready to go myself. LOL

We all learn from each other and our friendships just grow stronger here; something other posters don't understand, nor obviously, want any part of. They're just pathetic.

One thing I’ve heard him say. Insurance co. will be competitive across state lines. I just started reading his book where he lays out all his plans.

I usually buy every candidate’s books because you can learn more about them through what they write if you are a reader like me. I have Trump’s book also. These two were the only ones I thought I might vote for. BTW nopardons, I’ve read every one of these rally threads and watched every rally, every interview on TV. I was determined to figure out this man who is so famous, yet so inscrutable. I think I’ve got him pegged now. He’s street smart and business smart. He is a New Yorker who uses tough talk to cover his vulnerable side. Yes, he is actually naive, sweet, loving and compassionate, but he won’t allow the world to see that. When he is at a rally he is “acting” like a politician, or how he “thinks” a politician is supposed to talk. But it gets away from him when he gets excited about the response. He loses control of his “act” and goes straight to the streets of N.Y. Another observation about his delivery. He talks with his arms and hands spread out, as if to embrace the crowd. Note the difference with Cruz. I do not like finger pointing, and talking down to folks. I will be voting for Trump if he stays the course.

For some strange reason, that I can't explain, I have always bought books about pols that I HATE. *shrugs*

Every once in a while, I'll buy a book about a pol I like, but he's usually a dead one. :-)

I watch/listen too all the debates, rallies, interviews of ALL of the candidates. I'll read ALL the articles in American and foreign newspapers about them too.

I've been reading about Trump, in NYC newspapers, for decades, but watching him is better. I understand him; I REALLY do. And yes, his armor, he is putting on, to be president isn't his true self. And now that he smiles more, he does so with his full face and eyes. The other candidates don't do they; they are acting much more than he is!

The all enveloping, arms wide open to everyone, is VERY telling. Yes, he truly does mean what he says and does love everyone and this nation!

I HATE that stupid finger jabbing too.

THE TRUMPS by Gwenda Blair is a 500+ page book about the Trump dynasty. It contains it all good and bad and is well documented.
From poverty to multibillionaire in three generations. The American Dream on steroids !
