I think his religious acey-deceyism is genuine, not any political calculation, there are many more Catholics in Florida than Baptists.

Most tellingly, he went Mormon as a KID and somehow got his mom to go along, that’s really weird.

Weird, but thanks for the information. I had forgotten that, and another poster mentioned that question about him trailing off to be Mormon for a Minute too.

I do agree that Florida is more compatible to Catholics than Baptists.

Baptists have retreats there, Catholics actually live there.
