On Thursday, February 4, Satya Nadella will celebrate his second anniversary as the CEO of Microsoft.
It's been an eventful couple of years.
Microsoft has grown its crucial cloud business, released Windows 10 to a much better reception than its loathed predecessor, launched a bunch of great apps for iPhone and Android, and generally made people like it a lot more.
But the real victory of Satya Nadella â the truly monumental shift â has been within the company. Under Nadella, Microsoft is pointed in one direction for first time in modern memory.

Launching Win10 to a better reception than 8? That is not a feat. Launching it to a worse reception would have been brutally difficult, IMO.
Windows XP was the greatest OS in the history of mankind.
Really? Personally, I’ve had no trouble with Windows 7, 8.1 or 10. Luv the fast bootup starting with Windows 8.1.
That is called “Damning wth faint praise”, though in this case, it is trying not to damn!
Satya Nadella, meet my little friend, Linux. ;-)
I installed Windows 10 on my Dell i5 laptop with an ssd drive and 8gb ram. It is a real slug compared to Linux Mint. I Windows 10, click wait for a second, click wait for a second, etc. It must be phoning home with every click.
Linux is snappy and very responsive. I use Linux 99% of the time.
Was, past tense, isn’t anymore, really wasn’t anymore even before Windows 7, non-MS had surpassed it.
Good for you! Now get the Hell off this thread. Why it is that people think it's okay to come to a Windows thread to pimp Linux is beyond me.
Ping to the Windows ping list.
This reads like a job application from someone who wants to get hired by Microsoft before Yahoo goes belly up.
99% of businesses use Windows on the desktop.
Linux works great for certain applications and servers. But on the desktop? Not gonna happen.
That picture tells a lot.
Linux works fine on a desktop. There are over 200 different distributions to choose from.
According to Wikipedia, Linux has 20,000,000 lines of code, 14,000 programmers and cost (if the volunteer workers were paid wages) over $1-billion to develop.
Check out Distrowatch.com for reviews of various versions of Linux. Some dedicated to servers, some desktops, some to old computer hardware, etc.

Sorry but thanks for playing ,, the greatest and the one that started it all was IBM’s OS “MVS” which came out in 1963 with System360. For desktop computers XP was very good but no better than Win2000Pro (aka NT5) the later versions were better , particularly Win7.
I fail to see how your antisocial post added to the discussion.
So yes, while I'm an admitted Linux guy, if this guy is being successful bravo, well done.
I thought it was a great post. I fail to understand these people that seem to make it their pesonal mission in life to show up and tell everyone that their choice in X is so much better than your choice. I love it that we have a choice in operating systems, and I have computers running all of the major OSes.
Yahoo is a big bag of yuck, especially since that overly self-impressed, hearless cow Marissa Meyer took over. Anyone that laughs about laying people off doesn’t deserve to be CEO of anything, IMHO.
Are you referring to the demographic make-up, or just the number of people?
If the personal attack had been left out (as in your post), I would not have objected.
But, the post was a grumpy “get off my lawn”, instead.
OSX get the job done for me. Only thing I miss about windows is video games. To each their own :)
