Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is defending a campaign mailer that Iowa's secretary of state says misrepresents election law.
The mailer bills itself as a "voting violation" notice and tells the recipient it's been sent due to "low expected voter turnout in your area." It then grades the recipient's voting history and that of several neighbors, citing public records.
Cruz told reporters in Sioux City, Iowa, on Saturday that the mailing is "routine."
He says he won't apologize

Ain’t that the truth. The difference between the Cruz campaign incessant begging and the information from Trump is really remarkable.
Wow! This has gotten as bad as the Giuliani Wars....
Chauncey is still with us. I disagree with CU on his candidate selection but haven’t had much of a problem with him. Hopefully he’s taking the long term view.
Like many who are weak in the mind, she takes it personal. It was inevitable.
There will be more.
What's defective in the human mind that allow it to become so personally entangled in the fate of somebody they've never even met?
It's like crying for a week because Princess Di got dead.
“Under your doctrinaire definition of conservative.”

Maybe it is “under your doctrinaire definition of conservative” that he does not rate well. Show me evidence otherwise.
Search the user handle. Libbylu’s last post was a poorly written opus.
I don’t know all the mechanics of a zot as I’ve never gotten suspended or even warned. The boss in practice is quite tolerant. On life issues he is not. Otherwise, you’ve got to be pushing it.
Hopefully GGG just got a time out. Libbylu is likely permanent.
I lost my mentor during the rudy wars. Not a happy time for me.
Yes and Ted received a written reprimand from the Iowa Sec of State. I call this a sucking chest wound two days before the caucus.
Clearly, this kind of thing has been done before in otherâs campaigns - and itâs been scummy THEN, too.
I think sending this out is low, dirt-bag politics, but defending it as ânormalâ is even worse than sending it in the first place.
I used to think Cruz would be a great choice for VP. Not now.
Godgunsguts is on a short suspension til after the Iowa Caucus tomorrow night. It will give him a chance to get off meth. :-)
Good one. lol
I don’t find it that big of a deal but I know many do. It would not make me more likely to vote for him if I was undecided. If I was a Cruz supporter, it would be a roll my eyes moment. It would not be an ‘Oh My God’, moment.
Candidates use these firms to collect data in an attempt to understand what will appeal to a targeted audience. IOW, manipulate voters. I see that as the true issue.
Ted got some bad advice on this because his consultants did not take into consideration how consultants from another side can manipulate a few objections into this wide spread panic (i.e. This tells me more than I need to know! He’s dead to me!)
This speaks to how we are led by the nose as a society by any and all with something to sell. Just my opinion.
I hate to see all the discourse this election. I'd hoped more for a "we're good with most of the candidates" feel. It was not to be....
We can all work together!
Lots of money and power on the line. Power never cedes power voluntarily.
I saw Cruz in one of the Sunday talk shows.
That’s good enough.
Nice, isn’t it?
I grew up in Baltimore. Menken’s “Days” series autobiography was de rigour in my highschool. We had a library, then, with books, and we were expected to read.
Looked at the press secretary and the campaign tweets and sites.
Nothing.
I have seen folks making that claim. Haven't seen any support for that claim.
