It may turn moot before long if the chickens come home on Cruz, which sometimes it seems unfair when they do on a “dedicated Christian” like that — but it’s a matter of God policing His obviously known people to minimize scandal.
Then the choice becomes to take a chance on Trump (also supporting whatever conservative deal-forging efforts, e.g. Sessions’, that may be going on with Trump) or else fold arms and sit out.
I think many people don’t have more than superficial experience with the issues that beset both Trump and Cruz, even though they SAY they have great insight. I am reminded of the duet “Things Are Seldom What They Seem” from the old Gilbert & Sullivan operetta “HMS Pinafore.”
For me ultimately it is a question like the biblical parable of the talents. What did each person do with what he got (and it might not be what the world calls a talent, but rather access to spiritual truth). Trump has the excuse, if I may put it thus, that he does not yet know gospel from goose feathers. This will not fly for Cruz. God is going to ask proportionally more from Cruz. And Cruz seems to be missing much of the grace side of Christian faith, that he is in much better position to know than Trump is.
Again...don’t make more of it than it is...which many do now.
This is a Primary race....winners and losers which often bounce between states....and the tally grows or lessens along the way. It would be cause to celebrate if my candidate takes Iowa, and if not...next and moving forward to.
Nor do I think any have to determine a second choice until the time for that might or not present itself. Nobody has even voted yet....let alone count.... Further Iowa is just ONE state of delegates....there are more to follow and anything can happen between now and when the ultimate winner is announced......there’s lots up for grabs at this juncture.
