Sadly, a lot of candidates get into these bizarre scare tactics to turn out voters. Cruz, while I like his positions, is totally uncharming and has no personal touch and doesn’t seem to realize how the average human being would react.
People keep talking about Cruz and Reagan, but there’s no similarity. Reagan did have a long and consistent conservative track record, even though I disagreed with many of the things he did as governor of CA, such as defunding the mental hospitals and releasing the patients on the world. But whether you agreed or not, he was good at communicating his opinions and it’s not for nothing that he was known as the “Great Communicator.”
Like Trump, who in my opinion is a nutcase who shouldn’t have a single voter, Reagan had an entertainment background and therefore he realized that you have to get the audience on your side. Cruz doesn’t seem to understand this and no matter how good his ideas are, he’s incapable of communicating them or attracting people to his side. He even drives away his friends. Very strange.
Even nutcases can be crazy like a fox.
I think we can (humorously) call God a nut case. Who else would be moved to save this sad sad humanity?
