Carson was employed by a hospital or something. I do not recall reading he ran an independent surgery business as owner.
Signing a paycheck on the front requires hiring people and signing their paychecks. Dr Carson has certainly done lot of great things in his life, but again, I was talking about actually running a business as owner and hiring employees. That is different than cashing checks received for speeches.
As I said, he has always had a staff to assist editorially with a large volume of writing, to handle his speaking and appearance arrangements (which consitutes a taxable business entity) and to run his charitable non-profit business. It’s rather stingy not to want to recognize how hard he has always worked over and above his hospital appointment.
