I have a hard time understanding why a Conservative would ding someone for taking deductions.

Give more than most, been paying taxes since 1962, never once have taken a gift or charity tax deduction.
Why should I or Trump expect everyone else to pick up part of that tab?
Giving to worthy causes is supposed to be its own reward. That’s good enough for me.
