I would agree with that.

Further, let me run this by you.

1. If this was guidence, it was bad. It would be misguided, anti States Rights, and a slap to the face of every Conservative in California, as well as the general populace who voted to deny illegal immigrants any services so they would got back home. And after all, isn’t this the Cruz plan today. We could have been 20 years ahead of the game if Proposition 187 had been respected and implemented.

Bush and Cruz were addressing it five years after it died because the attorney general and governor of California refused to appeal the 9th Circuit Court’s ruling.

That was an affront to the people of California. We were bitter about it, and then to learn of this, it just pissed me off to see Prop 187 talked about in this manner.

2. Then if Cruz is just polishing Bush’s policy off, isn’t he just playing along to get along? It means he had not standards of his own that told him it was wrong to trash the bill and the people of California.

I could not have worked for Bush in that capacity, due to a very strong disagreement on policy.

Ted was okay with it.

When Bush was telegraphing his policy on fixing the illegal alien problem, I was thinking at the time, I wish I had his ear so I could explain this issue to him.

Here was Ted with that ear, and playing along instead of advising sound policy.

It sticks in my craw to this day, the failure to implement Proposition 187, and those who trashed it after we got it passed.

And people wonder why this state is so Leftist.

It is because idiots within earshot of our leaders have no backbone.

What it proves is that Ted Cruz is a career opportunist - AKA, a politician, every bit as covetous and conniving for power and prestige as are the worst of his contemporaries ... AND this is what my gut instinct tells me too.

I have this nagging impression of insincerity whenever Cruz speaks on any issue - and that sense is further bolstered by the patronizing way in which he speaks “down his nose” to others he believes inferior to his intellect ...

THAT is an important character distinction to note between Cruz and Trump. Cruz lectures at you, while Trump speaks with you, as in having a conversation.

Everything about Cruz, from his speech patterns to his gestures, seems disingenuous and rehearsed. He reminds me very much of the smarmy patronizing character who was Eddie Haskell, from ‘Leave it to Beaver’ ...

Crusz acts like the teacher’s pet or the neighborhood tattle tale. He’s behaves like the little snitch, who always is looking for an opportunity to ingratiate himself to mommy dearest.

In short, Cruz makes my skin crawl ... And I am certain he has the same effect on many others. Trump is no boy scout, but at least I can clearly see what his past and present positions are - and I trust that he has grown into a more conservative posture as his life experience has changed him. OTOH, Ted Cruz is like driving through a fog - one minute its clear and the next not so much. You are never sure of the boundaries - of where the lines of demarcation truly exist. Your driving along the straight and narrow - and suddenly the road curves.

No doubt the Texas junior senator thinks himself quite the crafty intellectual in his “geometric logic” (to quote Captain Queeg). No doubt he also believes that his brinkmanship, in appearing to support both sides of an issue, will flummox the opposition ... But I am beginning to see that Senator Cruz may actually fall into that class of individuals who are “educated beyond their intelligence” - AKA: being too smart for their own good.
