SEIU, top Dem team up to turn 5 million Latino immigrants into voters

Leading the charge is Rep. Luis Gutierrez, D-Ill., who said Thursday that he believes the "stand up to hate" push can get 1 million of those Latinos naturalized by May, which would see them become citizens in time to register for the presidential election.

The campaign's mantra is "Naturalize. Register. Vote."

Gutierrez advised Latinos to "get angry" over the anti-immigrant rhetoric emanating from Republican presidential candidates "then naturalize, register and vote."

"Can you believe calling all Mexicans rapists?" he asked during a conference call announcing the New American Democracy Campaign, referring to controversial comments made by real estate mogul and former reality TV star Donald Trump. "Banning all people of one religion from the United States?"

There's nothing the groups can do to speed up the naturalization process, but the initiative is aimed at making sure the millions of legal permanent residents trade in their green cards for citizenship.

California estimates it will issue 1.4 million driver’s licenses to illegals - from shiny new DMV buildings opened across the state. Yes, they do say on them, ‘federal limits apply’, or some such phrase. Will the average dem-centric poll worker care? I wonder how many tax dollars will be spent by the Office of the Registrar of Voters to discern who’s ‘limited’ and who’s not? Slow-tracked tracking will probably be the order of the day and the election over by months. Add in the other 9 states issuing licenses and the Dems will have their 5 million and then some, lickitysplit.

I read on another thread that the WH has sent people to CA and they’ll be going to 25 cities in total to help organize groups to help illegals become American citizens before November 2016.

Isn’t one of the requirements for becoming an American citizen to speak English? If so, I’m wondering how they are going to teach English to so many people in such a short time.

On that other thread there was a comment that one had to be in the US for at least 5 years before becoming an American citizen. I worked with a guy that was here on a work visa and wanted to become an American citizen. He had to jump through a lot of hoops, including working outside the country for 1 year then coming back in. Of course, he had a good job, was well educated and was from India, not Mexico or South America.

I suspect the Dims will overlook these things like they overlook many other things and laws they do not like.
