Trump is the most gratuitously nasty public figure that this country has seen in living memory. He is the very definition of a bully: at every opportunity to kick someone when he's down, Trump takes it, while shamelessly trumpeting his own dominance. Long after former Texas governor Rick Perry had withdrawn from the primary race, Trump was still sneering at Perry's glasses and intelligence during campaign rallies and gloating about how he had forced Perry's withdrawal. New York governor George Pataki held out longer in the campaign, but he was never a threat to Trump. Yet nearly every Trump stump speech still includes a mean-spirited reference to this nonentity. Trump followers defend his penchant for ceaseless, obsessive attack on the ground that he lashes out only when he has himself been criticized. But there is virtue in proportionality. Trump escalates a conventional campaign sally into the excuse for nonstop, self-aggrandizing war.
Trump is the embodiment of what the Italians call "maleducato"--poorly raised, ill-bred. Indeed, judging by the results, his upbringing seems to have involved no check whatsoever on the crudest male instincts for aggression and humiliation. Trump is unfailingly personal in his attacks. Nor is his comportment merely a refusal to be politically correct. Trump was on solid ground when he responded to Fox News's Megyn Kelly during the first Republican debate that he had no time for political correctness. A repudiation of political correctness means truth-telling, however. Trump's personal sneers are not truth-telling but merely the self-indulgent gestures of someone who makes no effort to control his desire to humiliate.

You know, Jim Robinson is a good man. But here is is plain wrong!
Presidents are supposed to LEAD. They are executives, not professional a$$ kissers.
You obviously prefer the a$$ kissers.
We can’t afford another mealy mouthed word parsing attorney to say one thing and do another. Those days are over, and your guy has proven himself to be exactly that: another damn politician that wraps himself in the word conservative and then blames everyone else when he votes the other way. TPA and Corker? How about sending money to McConnell while at the NSRC? How about his active support of Paul Ryan as speaker?
But given your incessant vitriol against Trump, the months ahead will be quite disappointing to you.
LOL!!’ Touché!!!
Thanks...
History....sucks that it repeats itself....
“Hitler did not have to destroy democracy; he merely took advantage of the decay of democracy and at the critical moment obtained the support of many to whom, though they detested Hitler, he yet seemed the only man strong enough to get things done.â - FA Hayek The Road to Serfdom
GO TRUMP
Perfect description to a T......His soul is corrupt.
No I will not be voting for this Buffoon either.
The author, a sexist who thinks boys need more civilizing than girls, takes a real pasting in the comments on her site.
It’s just shy of “Jane, you ignorant slut.”
City Journal isn’t “socialist.” It has a reputation as a conservative think tank, and has been very good on traditional family political analysis. It is New York City based, however; so maybe there is a backstory. The vitriol here is of the Church Lady lntensity. Perhaps he insulted the author personally, or someone she knows.
What you said he is, but on STEROIDS. What an embarressment
Trump: Living rent free in your head since 2015!
Graphic analysis. You think like an engineer. There’s a lot of truth in what you joked.
Such an embarrassment for this country.
I have not heard this meme before. What do you refer to with that?
The sad true is that many of Trump’s followers take the same pleasure in emulating him.
Can our culture survive this apparent slide into such coarseness?
If elected, I will abolish the IRS. But I wonât stop there. We will abolish four cabinet agencies as well. And we will sharply reduce the alphabet soup of government entities, beginning with the ABCs that should not exist in the first place: The Agencies, Bureaus, Commissions, and other programs that are constitutionally illegitimate and harmful to American households and businesses â including the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Itâs time to return to a federal government that abides by our constitutional framework and strips power from unelected bureaucrats.
We must break apart the federal leviathan that has ruled Washington and crept into our lives. Once we dramatically reduce the size of government â paired with fundamental tax reform and regulatory reform â we will reignite the promise that has made this the freest and most prosperous nation in the world.
To start the process of reducing the scope and cost of government, I will institute the following five reforms, which are estimated to save more than $500 billion over 10 years:
During my first year, I will fight to abolish the IRS, the Department of Education, the Department of Energy, the Department of Commerce, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. To do that, I will press Congress relentlessly. And I will appoint heads of each of those agencies whose central charge will be to lead the effort to wind them down and determine whether any programs need to be preserved elsewhere because they fall within the proper purview of the federal government. I do not anticipate lists to be long.
Eliminate the following Agencies, Bureaus, Commissions, and programs:
A strong balanced budget amendment is necessary to get back to fiscal responsibility, stop bankrupting our kids and grandkids, and keep Congress accountable to the American people. As President, I will fight to finally pass a strong Balanced Budget Amendment, which limits federal spending to a percentage of GDP and requires a congressional supermajority to ever raise taxes. In the private sector, quality companies do not spend money without first budgeting for expenses, and at the bare minimum, the government should do the same â itâs necessary for our posterity, and to be good stewards of Americansâ time and dollars.
A Cruz Administration will institute a freeze on the hiring of new federal civilian employees across the executive branch; no vacant positions at this point may be automatically back-filled; no new positions may be created; and no circumvention will be allowed through the hiring of contractors.
Estimated Savings of Over $500,000,000,000 in 10 years
No thanks, let Trump be the Nationalist Populist he is and tear down the whole Potemkin Village that now passes for "Conservative World" in this country.
None of the other candidates have any serious issues, am I right?
What we do Know he loves the Democrats, and will make the deal for Single Payer Healthcare. He SAID IT...
Don't miss the Video in a post above. Very Funny and exact of the doublspeak of Trump
"maleducato"--poorly raised, ill-bred Donald J. Trump.
Can our culture survive this apparent slide into such coarseness?
More people should take the moral high road and simply compare the candidates they don’t like to Hitler.
