Thursday night’s Republican presidential debate on FOX News Channel scored 12.5 million viewers, making it the second-highest rated telecast in the network’s history.
The debate topped all television shows -- including broadcast programs -- on Thursday night in total viewers. It also pulled in 3.5 million viewers in the advertiser-friendly demo of adults aged 25-54, according to Early Nielsen Research.

It was still because Trump’s in the race. People wanted to see Megyn’s bleeding eyes and how they’d handle it. Mere curiosity not that anyone wanted to see the freak show.

Trumps event ended before the debate did, and many people may have tuned the channel to fox after watching the Trump event. And fox might be counting that surge as if those people watched the whole time.
That makes sense.
24 million in August to 12 million last night.
Barely did better than the Fox Business Channel debate, which was on a channel few have.
Second-lowest rating for any presidential debate this primary season.

It still had more viewers than the last one that had the Donald in it. So I don’t think his absence really hurt them, regardless of what his ego would like to think.
They do share their leader’s anger, malice, bad manners, and bad breath.
The last debate was on the Fox Business channel which very few people watch.
Yesterday’s debate couldn’t beat the last CNN debate in ratings.
It was a major defeat for Fox.

They were practicing staying home on election day if Trump isn’t nominated.
Isn’t it normal for each debate to have decreased viewership from the one before? Seems logical.
And if you believe it, it’s true. Like most of Donald’s phantasmagorical, government-subsidized, union scams, it doesn’t matter if it’s true. THE DONALD said it so it is.

You mean the Donald Trump Foundation? That was a pandering event. Maybe it raised money, but it was a publicity stunt and Trump used the Veterans as a prop.
It was intended to be a circus and it was.
