Texas Senator and Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) sparred with debate moderator Chris Wallace and joked that he would leave the stage if he was asked another âmean questionâ at Thursdayâs second GOP presidential debate on the Fox News Channel.
âGovernor Christie, you have compared both senators Cruz and Rubio to Barack Obama saying that we cannot afford another inexperienced president. Youâve also said that Senator Cruzâs vote to curtail the NSA surveillance program made America less safe. Is either of ready to be commander-in-chief?â
After Christieâs answer, Cruz said he should get a chance to respond. Wallace objected, saying that Christieâs answer didnât mention Cruz, and â[I]tâs not my question you get a chance to respond to, itâs his answer.â
Wallace added, âSir, I know you like to argue about the rules, but weâre going to conduct the debate.â Cruz objected that the question was an attack.
...
Later, Wallace asked former Florida Governor Jeb Bush about his criticisms of Rubio and Cruz. Wallace then gave Cruz a chance to respond. He began, âChris, I would note that the last four questions have been Rand, please attack Ted, Marco, please attack Ted, Chris, please attack Ted, Jeb, please attack Ted.â Wallace responded, âIt is a debate, sir.â
Cruz countered, âWell, no, a debate actually is a policy issue.â He then jokingly said, âBut I will say this, gosh, if you guys say â ask one more mean question, I may have to leave the stage.â

Chris Wallace is always an a$$hole. I refuse to watch him. Faux news is off my cable menu for good.
At least MeGYN won’t have to call in sick for two weeks to lick her wounded ego.
[He began, ‘Chris, I would note that the last four questions have been Rand, please attack Ted, Marco, please attack Ted, Chris, please attack Ted, Jeb, please attack Ted.’Â Wallace responded, ‘It is a debate, sir.’Â]
Someone call Ted a WAHHHHmbulance.
Poor Ted can dish out it out but not take it. Welcome to the front-runner experience pal. Donald Trump took this kind of questioning on the chin for 6 debates.
Ted certainly had no problem making comments and stupid jokes who wasn’t there to defend himself.
Pathetic.
You apparently didn’t get the joke. That’s why this is posted in Humor.
Don’t make me diagram this for you...
Jokes are pretty flat if they have to be explained. Attacks are obvious coming from Cruz or Trump. That you have to repeated explain makes his comments a flop.
Chris Wallace is a dud...but here is “Me2TED” I’m leaving...just like Trump said he was going to and DID, and earned over 6 million dollars for the Vets and Wounded Wars, plus having two competing candidates up there and all three looking like they are together for America...
Cruz all he can do is ride on ‘somebody’s’ coattails, Levin, Beck, can’t do it to Trump anymore even though he tries, he’d done, call him Jeb!
joked that he would leave the stage if he was asked another ââ¬Åmean questionââ¬ÂAnd he got big time boos for it too.
Yeah. Ted seems to have the personality of a dry brillo pad.
The exchange was very awkward, and I don’t get Cruz’s point. Was he trying to say that maybe Trump was right to skip the debate? He sincerely complained about them asking too many questions that led to unkind responses about him from the others.... then joked (I guess?) about leaving. Not sure I understand what he was trying to get at.
As much as I dislike Rubio, he played off of that exchange masterfully.
Wallace is turning into his dad, another lib pos.
:)
He was mocking Trump for not showing up. Pretty obvious.
He isn’t changing he has always been one, he just works for an allegedly “conservative” news organization. The whole thing was a designed hit job on Trump, Cruz and the Rube. Trump was smart enough to stay out of it. Total GOPE ran debate last night with the bought and paid for moderators.
I think there is only about 5 anchors on the network that you can say are conservative.
