...Donald Trump may have been conspicuously absent, but Thursday night's Republican debate on Fox News Channel nevertheless scored a 8.4 rating, according to preliminary numbers from Nielsen. That's higher than the preliminary rating for the last Republican debate, Jan. 14 on sister net Fox Business Network.

Ack, not quite accurate but keep up the spinning. It was the second lowest Republican debate on a FOX owned network. The lowest was the last one on Fox Business. It was the lowest on ranked on Fox News. Going Trumpless cost them $$$$$$$.

It will be interesting to see the actual numbers compared against normal ratings. For example:
Scoreboard for Tuesday, January 26th Total Viewership .............(Live & SD):
Scoreboard for Wednesday, January 27th Total Viewership ........(Live & SD):
Thursdays numbers were not yet published at time of this posting. But those numbers should demonstrate any changes at either cable news outlet as it regards the numbers at FNC GoP debate vs. Trump's alt. fundraiser at CNN
Trying to put the best face on the second lowest rating for a R debate.
I could give several, but I choose not to have another useless debate with any more Trump worshipers.
I recorded it... Cruz is void of humor and the totality was vacuous. Trump's event had stunning moments with the vets, especially the speech by the wounded Green Beret. Huckabee's short speech was also moving.
When you consider that Fox Biz has little penetration, for Fox news to be so low was stunning. Hey, Fox lost a ton of money and Trump was in everybody's head that night.
“Actually, substance wise, last nights debate proved better without him.”
Agreed! It was a much better debate than previous ones with him.
Obviously, they cooked the books...just like the Gubment does.
Meg cost them somewhere between $10-20 million in lost revenue. Hope they think she is worth it. Like we need to watch another food fight.
Pray America wakes
That's very true.
It interesting that many people don’t even know what a debate as all they see are these silly cattle call media-controlled gotcha presentations.
A debate argues ONE statement, which is agreed upon prior to the debate. The moderator only does one thing, enforce time limits.
A debate subject has a specific form, here’s an example of typical wording:
“Resolved: Obamacare is a net good for American citizens.”
One debater agrees to take the positive side, the other takes the negative, and the question is debated, with equal time limits for both debaters.
I like to see actual debates.
DT has activated their swarming instinct: note how once their feeding frenzy was over they came immediately to draw blood on our Cruz thread with their Trump drug fix drying up.
It’s time the saner DT supporters start examining themselves.
But it was about the same as what they got for the Fox Business Network debate. That’s an awfully “convenient” comparison, which deliberately avoids an apples-to-apples comparison to the earlier debate on the Fox News Channel.
It’s almost as if they’re trying to hide some huge dropoff from one to the other. /s
That was very funny, and the subtlety of that is missed by his opponents supporters, went over their heads.
Fox Business has far less Channels but barely loses out to Fox News
Fox has the Two Lowest Debate Ratings and that's a Win?
“I haven’t been watching the Republican debates because of Trump”
That is exactly what the resident liberal said this morning
at work. No kidding. The exact words of a flaming liberal retard.
Have you watched any of the democrat debates?
“Itâs time the saner DT supporters start examining themselves.”
I’m beginning to question if there are any.
good for you...pointless.
It rated better than the previous debate......with Trump.
Who decides what questions to ask and what topics to cover? The candidates, or the "moderators"?
Steady is a relative term.
Barely half that ratings of the previous FNC debate.
Just higher than FBN, which is not as widely available.
Lower ratings than the CNN debate.
CNN and MSNBC saw ratings boosts compared to previous counter programming.
CSPAN is not rated.
Newsmax and OAN numbers not yet available.
Streaming numbers not yet calculated.
At best it’s a draw for FNC.
