In the wake of Donald Trump's announcement that he would not participate in the Jan. 28 GOP debate because Megyn Kelly is moderating, Kelly has been subjected to a barrage of misogynistic abuse online.
It's disgusting and depressing, but not at all surprising, for two reasons: Because many people (read: trolls) feel empowered to talk to women online in a degrading, abusive way, and because Trump's campaign is built on misogyny. Trump has trolled Kelly since August, and now his supporters are following his lead.

Awww! Poor widdle “I am woman, hear me roar!” “Equal pay for equal work!”
Donald doesn’t hate women. He just wants to sleep with as many of them as possible.
Does the left think “equality” means “but, I’m a girl.....”?
Trump is an easy target for the war on women crowd,,,, and the female vote has been the difference in Obutthead’s victories.
I don't call it the Huffing Glue Post for nuttin'...
Okay everybody, listen up. Here is the real truth about why Trump refused to attend the debate:
“Fox News and Google have invited three YouTube personalities to ask questions at the Jan. 28 GOP debate - including a Muslim advocate who describes Donald Trump as a bigot and who visually portrayed him as being in agreement with national socialist Adolf Hitler.
The other 2 women were a Mexican, and a Feminist.
Why on earth would the RNC resort to this sort of treachery except they want to try to get rid of Trump. He was smart enough to not play their stupid game.
And .. Ms. Megyn, is not on my TV list anymore.
WilliamIII - make sure everybody on your thread gets this message.
It is called FREEDOM...you can hate anyone and anything, if you want to do so. LIBs are mentally ill.
And .. stop posting junk from the Huffington Post .. because they lie and lie and lie about everybody that doesn’t believe like them.
If you’re going to post their false accusations, and have the truth posted with it .. that’s a better solution. This way people get to see what the Huffington Post is really all about.
I do not think Trump hates women, but whenever a woman puts him on the spot, he immediately regresses to misogynistic statements. It is alarming. Freepers on this blog are being influenced to hate Megyn Kelly.
He has totally gone mentally deranged over what he calls mistreatment at the first Fox debate. Well, folks, for 6 months I have been trying to convince myself that Donald is presidential material. Yesterday I gave up the ghost, so to speak. I can no longer imagine ever voting for this man. He is selfish, and a bully. No one who treats women the way he has treated Megyn deserves a vote from me.
He started out saying that he would not run an independent campaign ‘as long as the GOP treated him fairly.’ So the man has a huge ego and grudge on his shoulder. Everyone is supposed to cater to what he wants. I feel exhausted after seeing him interviewed on the TV. Perhaps getting older is not sitting well with him.
Fox News should take full responsibility for the train wreck their snarky, incompetent unprofessional Megan Kelly has perpetrated upon their network. She makes me very uncomfortable with her personal affronts and piercingly ineffective on air personna.
Ailes should cashier her now; no one is too big to fail. And she failed big time.
Sarah Palin was unavailable to comment on this article.
Actually I think it is Megyn who has been trolling Trump.
Exactly
And it’s about time.
They don’t have to ask Megyn Kelly, “Boxers or briefs?”
She practically shows the audience the answer every time shes on the air.
Your shadow scare you much?
This woman has a serious inferiority complex.
As soon as I saw that, I read NO further.
Really?! I hate my ex-wife, but not because she’s a woman. Rather I hate her because she’s a blood-sucking, money-grubbing, spiteful, gold-digging beatch. Does that still qualify me as a mysoginist? (Did I spell that correctly?)
ROTFLMAO!!
Wow the Establishment is sooooo desperate. What absolute rubbish!
