In the wake of Donald Trump's announcement that he would not participate in the Jan. 28 GOP debate because Megyn Kelly is moderating, Kelly has been subjected to a barrage of misogynistic abuse online.
It's disgusting and depressing, but not at all surprising, for two reasons: Because many people (read: trolls) feel empowered to talk to women online in a degrading, abusive way, and because Trump's campaign is built on misogyny. Trump has trolled Kelly since August, and now his supporters are following his lead.

My GYN kelly is a bitch from hell. Tonight was a disaster for fox. She will soon join the dyke, madcow , on msnbc. Fox is now going to be sold to the Trump empire at a fire sale price because after tonight crash with two kiddie tables— they are finished. They went from $750k for 1 minute of advertising down to about $110k, according to RUSH ( who loves TRUMP!!) all because of that rude and offendsive My GYN kelly. What a disaster unfolded before our eyes. Trump is our new PRESIDENT!!!

let them trot out the women who think this is true, and I’ll watch Trump trot out a much longer stream of women who have earned terrific salaries, run businesses, and worked with him on a number of fronts.
Besides, if there was any dirt on Trump, we’d have heard it by now, you can bet the RNC has been looking.
Megyn beat Marco, but Ted beat her. Marco had, other than a couple quips, a very poor night.
