It was a horror show for girls/ladies who had a figure. The real hourglass shape wasn't fashionable, either.
(That's about the time I decided I didn't care what some guy in New York City or Paris thought, I could tell an attractive woman when I saw one.)
I think that's when the homosexuals started taking over the fashion industry and making girls clothes for skinny boys...

Soooooooo true. I always gravitated toward ‘40s and 50s attire. They were made for a real woman. I love that vintage stuff.

1. Sasquatch Barbie
2. Munchkin Barbie
3. Chess Club Barbie

It’s a great look. Some of the outfits of the day were incredibly flattering to a woman’s figure without being overly revealing. Definitely piqued a man’s interest. Now, not so much.

Little off the subject but in dealing with stuff from the ‘60s I just read that Paul Kantner guitarist for the Jefferson Airplane just died. heart failure or something. He was 74.

Right again. I am glad they changed the Barbie a little. Maybe feminists will stop ruining childhood for young girls.

Nah, they'll just find something else to b**** about. It's what they do.
Feminists will never stop.

I did, too. That’s why my Barbies always preferred gorgeous G.I. Joe instead. LOL!

I’m with you. I actually like the new ones, too. But then I have thought for a long time that little girls and young girls in general need to be taught more positive body image. The idealized “perfect” body, as pushed by Hollywood and the media, has only helped to bring about dangerous eating disorders in girls (and some boys, too, sadly).
To: EQAndyBuzz
That works! (You also reminded me of the hilarious Barbie museum scene in Rat Race)
