That is Ganesha, the overcomer of obstacles. This form, this idea of Ganesha is sacred to a billion people. Not sure it's appropriate here, but I do like it.

Missionaries don’t have to go overseas anymore. A woman I met from India has been here 8 years and until she met my friend a couple of months ago, hadn’t heard the Gospel. She compares it to any number of other gods.
