IF true, why would that be necessary?

Birth and naturalization at birth records are public after 100 years. The function of that policy is to stifle identity theft, and to protect personal privacy.

Cruz has access to his own records, of course (as you do to yours), and can make them public if he wants. Since there is no official "vetting" of qualifications for office, he can hide his history, with pressure coming only when the public has doubts.

His admitted birth in Canada makes him naturalized. There is no need to see any records. Just "see law."
