Iâm not really sure what will happen tonight. I truly hope that Donald Trump will keep his word and follow through on his decision to not attend the debate and hold a separate forum in Des Moines, but who knows. For now, C-Span says they will cover it.
Sometimes itâs best to walk away from a bad deal and not look back. Itâs another opportunity for Trump to âteach us.â I guess weâll see. Hopefully we wonât get whipsawed all day long and that the Des Moines rally is on and FR people here will participate.
It seems pretty clear to me that Trump was tipped off about an unformatted ambush with other activist questioners, (who may not even be Americans), with their own agendas. Did they intend to pull a Jorge Ramos on him to disruptâmaybe to get him to walk off the stage or say something regrettable?
Whose idea was it in the first place to have these people ask questions? This is the kind of maneuver weâd expect from a more left wing station, not Fox, but weâve sure learned something this past year, havenât we about this network, and the people weâve allowed in our homes day in and day out?
And who wrote that chicken bleep press release that mocked Trump with references to our enemies? Was it Ailes himself? I sense the good people like Jeanine Pirro and Brett Bair are pretty embarrassed this morning. They should all be.
The Fox network intent, as I see it, is more ominous and thinly cloaked and perhaps about other things. Megyn Kellyâs objective was to make her the center of attention over the candidates and her colleagues, but already Rupert Murdoch voices his desire to have Michael Bloomberg enter the race, and weâre hearing of some backdoor dealings of his, and Fox, that favors illegal immigration. I guess we will see what is fact and what is fiction eventually.
Make no mistake, immigration, legal and illegal over the past 25 years, has altered the cultural and political trajectory of our country. Who can say if this is good or bad? It really depends on who you are. I worry that ultimately it will affect our freedoms.
Ted Kennedy and other passive politicians from both sides, and presidents have got the politics wrong about immigration. It used to be that immigrants coming here from wherever, and their offspring proudly said they were âAmericansâ first. Now, Iâm not so sure.
Was that the political intent? To ultimately change the complexion of our nation and endanger our freedoms by pitting us against one another, and to have people coming here not to assimilate with us, but to defy us?
This will all pass, just like it did in 1980 when Ronald Reagan chose not to debate George Bush before the Iowa caucus, and maybe, before it does, it will turn the Iowa caucus on its ear with a surprise winner. I think all of us have seen through the rallies that Iowans are a special brand of people.
Those Iowans, that âusually get out and voteâ, are a microcosm of the people we used to be, before John Kennedy was killed. They usually vote in the end for âthe person who appears to have the best heart.â I think itâs Trump, they might think itâs Carson. I only hope that they do not take his refusal to debate as a personal affront to them.
All of our candidates are true patriots. Any one of them could lead our country better than the people who have led us these past eight, maybe 24 years. Whomever wins the nomination should have our support.
I pray that God gives each of these people the wisdom to do what is best for the people of our country. Can Fox say that the organization and spirit of their debate had that same intent? I truly doubt it.
He’s a solid guy. I still like Krauthammer. I’m expecting Kirstin Powers to switch over to our side, like Kraut did, and I’m sure at cocktail parties he keep trying. SHE’D HAVE A GREAT FOLLOWING HERE!!!!! Until then, she sound naïve and foolish every time she opens her mouth.
Juan? I think deep down he gets a kick out of Trump. I think he and Britt Hume love to watch and listen to Trump.
I think the whole Morning Crew are with Trump and the girls on The Five, too. I think Hannity too, and behind the scenes BOR is a true friend.
I think every network has the bulk of their reporters high rfiving themselves in the mirror about Trump.
He’s a throw back to our wild and wholly times. Newt is right, he’s the Andy Jackson and Teddy Roosevelt candidate rolled into one, but with all due respect, Newt, I disagree with you. He made the right decision to skip this fiasco.
Brett tweeted a picture of Trump in a crib as a baby.
Stupid.
He should be embarrassed.

No Brett is not solid. Not when he tweets a picture of Trump as a baby in a crib saying “I want my binky”.
That was stupid.
About the only one I respect is Morning Joe. He seems to have his head screwed on straight. At least he has a clear view of what’s going on, and how stupid it was for Fox to do what they did.
Maybe I read incorrectly on another thread, but I thought it was Brit Hume and not Brett Bair that tweeted the Trump baby crying picture.
I thought that CNN was going to carry it (that’s what I read yesterday). Based on this, looks like they have pulled out or at least are thinking of doing so.
It appears that at least CSPAN will carry it (based on your posts below, Nikos)

You’re right it was Brit Hume. I just checked.
I think Brit Hume is on pins and needles, hoping that Cory L or Trump himself doesn't break the story about Brit's affair with Lightweight Journalist Megyn Kelly.
It's fairly common knowledge on FR, but I don't think the American public know about it. Why is it important? Because it lends credibility to charges that Lightweight Journalist Megyn Kelly slept her way to her show.
Newt spoke without hearing the entire truth
Gretchin has worked with Trump in beauty industry. Greta and He both support and work with Samaitans Purse. Kimberly is a personal friends of Malania. JudgeJaneen go back 25 years when DT stood by her when her husband turned out to be a sleaze. DT has lots of true friends at FOX.
Peter Johnson is a D ( conservative D) and has worked for DT The list goes on and on When Bob Beckle said FoX is in Chaos. He knew what he was saying
Yep. Yer still snookered by FNC. Turns out Fox was always for THE establishment, including both and/or either Party.
Fox was NEVER fair and balanced. It was just an ad lingo/logo/phrase to promote themselves for their purposes only. Never were for FReepers ever. All a show to gain our trust. FNC management (including most of the front and visible people) lie for a paycheck and do only what they are instructed by their masters. String puppets to the core.
...unformatted ambush with other activist questioners....
Why, oh why, is FOX allowing a Mexican, lacking legal status, to ask questions in a US election, instead of US Citizens????
All the US citizens are supporting Donald J Trump! ;-)
to be the man to at last tell these SOBs enough is enough and give the treacherous he!! to pay. Fox is finished as far as this household is concerned. They've been has beens for the past few months and will not be invited into my home again. On to Iowa and positive outcomes for our country, our people. Suggest all of us say a prayer (or more) for our man Trump this morning. He needs the strength and the wisdom from above to make the most important decision he may have to make in his life today; As do we all. GOD BLESS AMERICA
I don’t know about Pirro, but Brett should be embarrassed; he helped plan it, rehearse it and fine tune it, from what I read. He even planned and rehearsed his own line, where like on The Apprentice”, he would inform Trump that he was fired, and have him led off the stage.
Some time ago, in a doctor’s waiting room I read an article about Brett, his family and their devout catholic faith, etc. What a kick in the slats to realize what a two-faced snake he is!
On the Tuesday evening news Baer did an interview with Trump. At the very end, Baer closed by asking Trump, “See ya’ Thursday night, right?” And Trump said something to the effect that he was doubtful; and shortly thereafter his campaign said he would NOT be there. But it really rankles me, that after all the conniving, plotting and setting the trap; Baer’s parting effort with Trump, was to attempt, by asking Trump the question, to lure him into it.
And then Wednesday night BOR pled with Trump to reconsider and come to the debate. Did BOR know about the planned “firing” scene; and attempt to plead and cajole Trump into walking into the trap? I don’t think much goes on at Fox that BOR doesn’t know about. I’ll bet he knew all about the gotcha questions that Wallace, Baer and Kelly had cooked up back in August, too.
Apparently Trump had agreed sometime ago to be on BOR’s show last night, but had demurred because of current events. He relented and appeared because BOR promised he wouldn’t badger Trump about coming back on the debate. When BOR really became insistant that Trump change his mind, Trump reminded BOR of his promise, and that he lied and broke it. No doubt, Murdoch and Ailes had tasked BOR with the absolute imperative that he get Trump to relent and agree to participate. It must really disappoint Trump to now realize that EVERYBODY at Fox who had any clout was jointly complicit in attempting to destroy him and his campaign.
A pox on Murdoch, Ailes, Baer, OReally, Kelly and everyone else who in any way participated in this backstabbing plot!
I am certain That CNN is missing an outstanding opportunity to do in the Fox News Channel tonight by not airing the Donald Trump Rally to raise money for our wounded warriors and veterans, and their families. C-Span will be airing the entire event. C-Span, tonight, will have the largest number of folks watching in the entire history of C-Span.
I urge every American to boycott the The entire Fox News Channel POTUS debate, this evening, not only to watch the Trump event, but to help tear down the evil USA media...who has laid out an ambush for candidate Trump....which Trump got a heads-up on, before they could pull it off!!!
The ad rates for the FNC debate are falling like a heavy anchor being thrown into a deep sea, and, I suspect the FNC Debate will fail in massive fashion, because Ted Cruz is in full panic mode and is ranting and raving like a lunatic. the rest of the GOP is boring and ho-hum!!! And....when Drudge releases his internet poll on who the winner of the debate was....the absent, Donald Trump will be declared the winner!!!
You gotta question the FNC mantra of having Megyn Kelly kissing up to raving maniac, ego-driven, hateful Glenn Beck and then the gutter garbage man, Michael Moore. Ailes must not be wrapped too tight!!! Methinks, Rupert Murdoch is laying low to watch the debacle that Ailes & Kelly have created...and he will be acting quickly to correct the massive problem for FNC that these two ego-maniac, nutcases created!!!
GO DONALd J.TRUMP!!!
I don't know if it's true, but Diamond said that Wells Fargo just cancelled their commercials at the debate. If it's true, I'm going to send them a thank you email, as I have one of my fairly big IRAs being handled by them.
That affair thing between Hume and the shrew. I heard that same rumor way back when and had to wonder if it were true. Seems she moved on from him and up the ladder several rungs to Ailes - judging from what we know of the entire situation. The shrew has killer instincts and is more of a Jezebel than the original woman herself.
Remember the night Kelly had her husband on her show? That, IMHO, was sick and screamed of nepotism. How and who made that broadcast a reality?
