Donald Trump has not yet changed his mind.
The GOP presidential front-runner announced yesterday that he will not participate in tomorrow's Fox News debate.
"I'm not going to do the debate. I'm going to have something else in Iowa," Trump said yesterday.
Tomorrow's debate is the last one before the Iowa caucuses on Feb. 1.
Instead of appearing on stage with his presidential competitors, Trump said he will host an event for veterans in Des Moines, Iowa, during the debate.
"He will...raise money for the Veterans and Wounded Warriors, who have been treated so horribly by our all talk, no action politicians," the Trump campaign said in a statement released Tuesday night.
"When Donald Trump goes to Des Moines and we start raising money for veterans and wounded warriors and we have multiples of millions of dollars raised for these people and the American people tune in because they want to support that and Fox goes back and say they should have had 24 million watching their debate and instead they got 1 million, it's a disservice to the American people," Trump"s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski said today on "Good Morning America."
Lewandowski also claimed this morning on MSNBC that other campaigns have "asked us proactively" to participate in the event and that "it's very possible" that other candidates could skip the debate as well. ...

“Cruz seems all flustered about it for some reason.”
Could it be because Cruz knows there is no lock on how much time FOX will give him during the debate.
FOX isn’t for Cruz. FOX is for Rubio and they are going to give Rubio all the time in the world and Cruz will be left standing there like a loser. Thursday will not be a good night for Cruz.
I suspect Thursday will be a GREAT night for Trump and our veterans!
They had a plan to set him up with an anti trump muslim woman and an anti trump hispanic.
What part of that dont you get? It is journalistic integrity that he is boycotting!
Because he’s dodging the debate.
It’s NOT a debate!
That would be appropriate, since he's ducking the debate.
My guess is he planned this out ahead of time, and we’ll watch it unfold over the next two days.
Dumping this BS debate was smart of Trump. He’s done 6 debates and has nothing more to prove. He’s going to get a lot of positive publicity for a wounded warriors townhall. Fox News debates have turned out to be worse than the libtard channels. He know they will just attack him.
A debate is supposed to be every candidate answsering questions not defending themselves from a bunch of moderators with an agenda. Its gotten out of hand and its time somebody put a stop to it. Trump just said I’m not gonna play.
Not to mention that they have too many wanna bee's up there, Jeb, Paul, Christie, Kasich, sheesh these dolts don't have a chance. They had their chance and now they are a distraction.
Perhaps even Dr. Carson would show up, so Trump the Insult-Comic Dog can call him "pathological," like a "child molester."
I think a empty podium with Trump’s name on it would be a mistake. If the remaining candidates address the empty podium or reference it, Trump is AGAIN front and center and monopolizing what should be THEIR time to state THEIR positions & draw the fine lines of distinction as to why they would make the better president than the rest of the field. If the audience starts laughing or whatever when the empty podium comes into ‘play’ shall we say, then the “debate” is no more than a comedy show & a worthless exercise ... which it pretty much is now after all the ones we’ve already had, IMO.
People also forget the democrat party Reagan had belonged to was comprised mainly of Americans who believed in this country. It's a far, far cry from the oozing mess of socialistic bilge that party is now.
Where did you hear that?
I heard he was going to borrow Fonzi’s skis and do a little shark jumping.
You’re probably right, I hope it’s successful.
Exactly. This is precisely why--regardless of which candidate one supports right now--we should set aside our differences and recognize that Trump's stance benefits America. We have a broken, corrupt political process, and finally, someone is drawing the long-awaited line in the sand against the self-appointed king makers in the media.
Whatever one's opinion of Trump as a potential president, he has done, and is doing, what none of the other candidates can do effectively. If Ben Carson or Kasich or Jeb or any of the other candidates had refused to play the media's game, does anyone think Fox News would be even approaching the level of hysteria we're seeing? They'd be miffed. Their feathers would be ruffled. But this? Trump, like him or not, is the only one who could be pulling this off.
What Would JFK say? 8-)
Or Waterloo, perhaps?
