I think a empty podium with Trump’s name on it would be a mistake. If the remaining candidates address the empty podium or reference it, Trump is AGAIN front and center and monopolizing what should be THEIR time to state THEIR positions & draw the fine lines of distinction as to why they would make the better president than the rest of the field. If the audience starts laughing or whatever when the empty podium comes into ‘play’ shall we say, then the “debate” is no more than a comedy show & a worthless exercise ... which it pretty much is now after all the ones we’ve already had, IMO.

I agree but for a different reason IF Trump DEMANDED it be removed, he would be telling Murdock, Ailes and mods...I’m done with your bias.
It isn’t needed there if the candidate isn’t.
IMO
Good grief. You’re not going to see an empty podium on the stage. Trump has got everyone thinking like a child. Probably in emulation.
The adults in charge of the debate will manage it just fine. Maybe without Trump’s inane distractions, we’ll even end up with a good policy debate. A lot of people have yet to make up their minds in Iowa and New Hampshire.
Trump’s charity event might even raise a lot of money, and that’s commendable, although it would likely raise far more if he didn’t do it as an obvious political gimmick. For that matter, he’s gotten at least ten times the amount of free publicity than any other GOP candidate, so perhaps he’ll use some of what that free publicity has saved him and offer to match all donations?
After all, his reasoning behind asking Fox to donate was that he made them money by appearing. Well, the MSM, including Fox, has saved Trump a boatload of money by providing the amount of free coverage they have thus far. Sauce for the goose....
