Veteran treatment and respect for veterans in Iowa is a huge deal according to some relatives who live there. If Trump pulls it off in a way to honor the veterans and gets in his love of country this could be a huge plus for him. If he turns it into a bashing event it will not go well for him with the voters.
Without Trump, it’s not going to be much of a debate.

If there is a debate sans Trump, I'm only going to be interested in how many watch it, not what is said in the debate.
If the ratings are seriously low without Trump compared to the ratings with Trump, then he'll both have the last word and will have won the debate without even being there.
Perhaps Megyn should pull a Clint Eastwood and talk to an empty chair. Then again I doubt she has the brains to pull something like that off.
