ME AGAIN: Trump knows you have to engage in negotiations in order to win. They are not going to just fold their hands and go home. That’s the underlying point in saying he can “get along” with Pelosi, or Putin or anybody else. On the other hand, he doesn’t deign to waste time arguing with journalists who have nothing to offer in return. (He doesn’t need their air time anymore.)

Wasn’t one of Reagan’s big mistakes working with Chuck Shumer and giving us amnesty? Crap, that was really Reagan’s one big mistake.

True, but the mistake wasn’t working with the Dems, it was allowing himself to get defeated by the Dem (in that case). Trump doesn’t have a history of losing when he negotiates with others.
