‘American means American period......’

AGREE!! Enough. Does the media report....’that Italian American or that Irish American’?? No. Maybe we could unite if we stopped the hyphenated nationalities. Either you’re an American or you’re not!

Does the media report....that Italian American or that Irish American?? No.

They would be referred to as hyphenated Americans if they were advocating some highly ethnic point-of-view, such as support for the the old IRA or some controversial Italian cause.
