This is not how Hillary Clintonâs run for the White House was supposed to go: full of never-ending scandals, with a close primary competitor, and two FBI investigations. There is but one week to go before the Iowa caucuses, where the first votes in this yearâs presidential race will finally be cast.
While Hillary Clinton is still the clear leader in national polls and likely to receive the nomination, the numbers are extremely close [1] in Iowa between Hillary and the democratic socialist candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT). And in the first actual primary, the following week in New Hampshire, Mrs. Clinton is trailing in a CNN poll by almost 30 points [2]. Yes, New Hampshire is right next to Sandersâ home state of Vermont, but Sandersâ potential victories in Iowa and New Hampshire could dramatically alter the dynamics of the race.

In the meantime, the weekend snowstorm served as an excuse [3] for the State Department to try to get an extra month to release the final batch of emails, which would conveniently be afterâinstead of beforeâthe first four statesâ primaries and caucuses.

Mrs. Clintonâs best ally at this point is a corrupt establishment media that largely ignore her legal and ethical challenges, and which regularly portray the Democratic Party race as being fought over such high-minded virtues as âheart vs. head [18],â or between âBernie Sandersâs idealism and Hillary Clintonâs pragmatism [19].â Weâll see how long they can continue to enable her.

LOL! Oh really? The erf’s smartest woman can overcome any obstacle.
Hillary’s blessed to have a stupid and corrupt press... All hail the New York Times and Washington Post...
The polling is too out of date to know much.
But after IA, NH the Dem race may be more competitive than the Rep one.
Ms. Indictable or Grandpa Socialism, what a choice.
