I am sprinkling the following on many threads today hoping it does some good:

Cruz is my candidate, but I could vote for Trump because I am hoping he means what he says about protecting our borders.

I really wish the Trump and Cruz sniping would stop. It accomplishes nothing here on FR, and I am convinced that some of the bashers on both sides are just Rat trolls. Tearing down one candidate is not a way to convince someone to switch to the candidate you support. It merely causes animosity and gives the left ammunition for the general.

Are you sure this is the same Left Wing Salon we have always known? Like the Huffpost? Praising Cruz for the things Conservatives want?

From all my reading on Trump’s liberalism pro dem donations even while running on the GOP Presidential ticket, I’d already ruled him out as another Obama. Saying things that ‘tickle’ a conservatives ears, he may share some of our values but not enough to get me to vote or trust in him, another Romney or McCain in my book.

Abolish the Dept of Ed, IRS, use the death penalty, flat tax, pro life, kick out the refugees, illegals, pro 2nd Amendment, Pro 10th Amendment, what is there not to like in Cruz?

Certainly not as nasty sounding as Trump has been of late, the win at all cost candidate.

I’ve not seen FReepers this divided on what is conservative issues since Romney & McCain we knew they were RINOS by their voting records. We held our noses and voted for the 2 RINOS to keep the liberal Dems out of the White House and Congress, what we ended up with was Evangelicals sitting home and being blamed for the loss of the election. Now we are being told if we vote Cruz Evangelicals who support Cruz will elect the hildabeast. What rot. 5% of dems will cross over for Trump, big deal, what percentage is the true Christian voter, not just Evangelicals?

Given the meaning of Evangelical Christian is BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN, not just Christian. You can go to church daily, say you believe in Christ, but if you truly follow His word, you must Confess He is your Savior and be Born Again. To me that is clearly said in John 3:1-23 “…no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” In verse 6 Jesus explains “Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to the spirit.” John 14:6 (NKJV)6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Born Again Christian: http://www.allaboutreligion.org/born-again-christian.htm

Republicans hope to find ‘missing’ evangelical voters
http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2015/10/19/2016-campaign-republicans-evangelicals/74206060/

This all leaves me puzzled as to what folks see in a pseudo pretend GOP candidate who plainly says he’d vote like the Hildabeast. And donated to her, to the Gun Grabbing VA Governor while running for GOP President. Donald Trump: ‘I Identify More As A Democrat,’ Emphatically Praises Hillary
http://www.westernjournalism.com/donald-trump-i-identify-more-as-a-democrat-emphatically-praises-hillary/

You can say any words that ‘tickle’ the ear but in the end it’s deeds or the “fruits” you bear that count.

True, but those other taxes probably would not be needed if a true Flat Tax were in place. All of those additional taxes fall out of the IRS Code. Congress bitches about the "unfairness" of the tax code. However, those stupid clowns forget they are the ones who wrote the code in the first place...and they did it in ways designed to feather their own nest.

No one fully understands the Code. If you think I'm wrong, think up a moderately-tough tax question and call the IRS for an answer. If you get through and get an answer, call back again with the same question. Unless it's something really simple, you'll get a different answer. I say: shit-can the whole thing and go to a flat tax. Such a tax is resource-neutral and that, to me as an economist, is preferable to what we have on the books now.

Our Constitution was written a long time ago by old men and now we need a "deal maker."

I saw that last night. That is the thinking of a living-constitution-loving libtard.

Reminds me of this attack ad from Hillary Clinton. Seems to be making a great case FOR Ted Cruz...not against.

Cruz is faking his conservatism? Bwahahahahaha. That is hilarious. Considering since High School, he has been studying it, memorizing it and defending it all the way up to the Supreme Court. Yeh....he’s really faking that.

Exactly.

Yet certain FReepers are so gone with TDS that they accuse Cruz of faking his conservatism.

SMH.

How is it possible for a man who up into not so many months ago could have campaigned to be elected the Prime Minister of Canada is somehow supposedly “takes a strict “originalist” view of the meaning of the Constitution? Not even Ted Cruz’s immigration policies can be regarded as remotely in conformity with an “originalist” view of the meaning of the Constitution.
